All of our problems last year were due to the assistants that got fired and injuries?

What if it truly was the line coaches fault for the horrible run game?

Wilcox's fault for us not getting after the QB more?

Having no RBC the reason our RB's stunk?

The ST's coach the reason Palardy (the top kicker in the nation coming out) would actually kick dirt???

What if NONE of the problems that were going on are Dooley's fault and everyone of these coaches knew they were being fired at the end of the year and were given the option to leave on their own terms or get axed????

What if we lost the Kentucky game because everyone in the locker room knew this and just wanted to get onto the next season with the future coaches???

If this is true...next year may be a very very different UT team.

If that's true, then it's on Dooley.

I understand what you are saying and I can't disagree, but we have to remember CDD hired all of them.. Seems hard to believe that he would whif on all of those hires..

You may very well be on to something though.. I hope so at least...:loco:

If they don't improve next year we will know why and who needs to go for sure. But IF they land a good D-line and ST coach I expect there will be strong improvement. Not worried about LB coach with Sunseri there. The last staff had no common ground or culture. It all appeared to be parts working in different directions - disjointed. With an unproven head coach that is a recipe for 5-7 and an ugly loss to UK.

I think it's more than a coincidence that none of these coaches were awarded contract extensions (and as someone else pointed out in another thread a few days ago, I think Hart has said he wasn't going to reward any contract extensions following a losing season).

I'm not sure these guys were going to be run out of town but it doesn't seem like we were working hard to hold onto many of them, either.

Hopefully the new batch proves to be a better fit for our university and personnel. I thought Wilcox had a lot of upside (at least based upon all the hype surrounding him) but it seems like we we didn't seem to have a good personnel fit for what he wanted to do, and he didn't seem to make the most of what we had. While I think he would have eventually gotten us to where we needed to be, it was a slow and painful process and it wasn't real clear how many recruiting classes it was going to take to get there.

The what ifs have a measure of possibility. Next year will be much different than 2011. As for KY....I think several of the players justed wanted to end the year, then and there. The loss to KY did not sting as much as the way the season played out.

I was corrcted on the the other thread.. CDD didn't actually hire all of them... Some of them were hold overs from Kitten's staff... Sorry about that.. :hi:
