What if we had won the East....

You're telling me that you rather Florida play in a championship game than see us lose? Come on man...

Me? I would love to be in the SEC Championship game. I think we would lose and go to the Belk or Outback bowl. Would love to go to New Orleans. I would hate to see Florida back in to the Sugar Bowl with our loss.

That can't happen. The loser of the SEC CG is guaranteed no worse than the Citrus Bowl. Basically it comes down to the Sugar or Citrus for the SEC CG loser.

Citrus Bowl for Florida!! Sugar Bowl for Tennessee!!
I see it like this. Auburn is #13, Florida is #15, Tennessee is #17 in the CFP rankings. I think Auburn loses to Alabama. If Florida manages to beat Florida State and Tennessee beats Vanderbilt, they will pass Auburn and I don't think they will be more than 2 spaces apart. If Alabama beats Florida in the SEC Championship game then their records will be the same and Tennessee has the head to head. I think they will pass Florida in the CFP Rankings and be the SEC representative in the Sugar Bowl. Believe it or not, for the first time, Alabama is our friend!! :)

You still have a shot to play for the CFP (gotta beat FSU)

But no, I didn't say it was a bad thing. I said it was arbitrary.

If UT had won the SEC Title game we would play in the sugar bowl. Right now it looks we will play in the sugar bowl.

Same outcome, except I guess we would feel better about ourselves

Our goal was to be the best team in the SEC East, to play in the SECCG and try and win the SEC Championship. Despite everything lining up perfectly for us, we failed to accomplish that goal and the season is pretty much a failure because of it.

Not sure what's so difficult to understand here. Btw, I couldn't possibly care less about which bowl we do or don't play in.

The issue is how the playoff committee rank the teams that lose. They tend to not react the way the traditional polls do that if you lose you drop considerably.

If UT vs. Vandy is close and Auburn plays Bama tough and loses...and/or UF beats FSU and plays Bama tough, Auburn & UF may not drop below UT in the CFP poll.

Not surprised you'd take this stance. I'd rather go and get drilled, than sit home and watch.

What a joke so many of you are.

Of course you would rather go and get stomped because then you would get to complain the whole time we were getting stomped.

Only reason you won it in the first place is because of the misfortune of us having to play them in the regular season.

Disagree, UT lost the East in Columbia.

And if not for what many considered a minor miracle in Athens...something that's rarely brought up in this particular discussion...UF would have locked up the East sooner.

Everything was there for the taking for you guys. UF won a road game everyone expected them to lose, and UT lost a road game everyone expected them to win. That was the difference.

IF Florida had played Bama.......

I get your point. Get mine.

I get your point, I just disagree with it.

This "UF doesn't play Bama in the regular season" argument magically appeared after we beat LSU.

You didn't get my point.

IF.

We DID beat Georgia with a miracle Hail Mary.

Florida did NOT play Alabama.

Doesn't really matter, it was a simple thing anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving. I wish we were going to Atlanta, but I'm glad you're going with a loss to us rather than going with a win.

Happy Turkey Day to you as well. :hi:

If you must use hypotheticals to prove a point, do you really have a point?
