Johnny Majors as the new, interim athletic director a couple days after the blowout Florida loss?

And Callahan said that he will not resign. This situation at Nebraska is going to get uglier, if that's even possible. Good lord!

I'm Glad Phil & Co. have seemingly righted the ship, but even when times were looking bad at the beginning of the season, I'm really glad we didn't have to deal with a situation like this.

there will most likely be more losses this year so we will get to wait and see what happens. I think there is school of thought out there that has pre-justified any loss to SC or KY this year as an aberration because they think both of those programs are having once a decade (perhaps once every couple of decade) type seasons.

I believe Fulmer would have been fired and we'd have an 80 proof AD right now

Johnny Majors? He's got to be 90 years old by now. What would he add to the program?

I'm just saying, it's pretty brutal when your university hires the guy you replaced to be your new boss. The situation at UT may be bad (I personally think things are fine), but at least we're not about to have a half-season-long grudge match between our Coach and our AD. Imagine trying to coach six games, knowing that your employer is trying to "make it up" to their slighted legend of a coach by bringing him back for a limited time to give him the opportunity to fire you.

I see what you're saying and, yeah, that would suck. I seriously doubt that CJM is ever rejoining the UTAD in any official capacity.

Lord no. The only foreseeable thing I could envision is possibly CPF coming back in a couple to the the UTAD, but that is unlikely, though he might not be that bad of a choice.

I wouldn't think so either.

By the way, I'm a complete bonehead. I had Osborne confused with Frank Solich. My bad. The situation is not quite as shocking as I thought. Sorry. I'm a bit .

If anyone is ever again going to be made AD at UTK based on past coaching accomplishments it should be Pat Summit.

I do think it's unlikely though now that we are in the era of "professional" ADs.
