Worley would have been protected completely.
Our record would be 10 & 2.
Dobbs would have Redshirted.
We would OF COURSE be going to the CITRUS bowl
Peterman would still be #2 QB
Hurd would have over 1000 yards
Lane would have 873 yards
Our Tight Ends would have a total of 14 TDs among them.
Darr would have redshirted, since we would have not needed a Punter.
AJ would still be playing since Tiny would have taken care of him after the KY game.

etc

You mean taken care of A.J. in the biblical sense?

Tiny has a bum knee and wouldn't have been able to play anyway.

Staying at tn would have fixed that. Knoxville is magic.

I'm not saying that donning General Neyland's hat during the last light on the day of the Vernal Equinox while in the secret Panacea Room built by Elvis in the Sunsphere will heal all your ills and make you immortal . . .

but I'm not NOT saying it either.

One man alone couldn't have helped this line

Losing tiny was a huge blow. If he would have stayed we wouldn't of had to shuffle so many guys that were playing out of position. The season would have been different because of one man that left early and didn't get drafted

shhh...according to volnation, we're always just one player away from winning several more games a season. An injured, penalty-prone LT would have been the difference in the Florida and Georgia game, but the coaches themselves can't actually be expected to make that kind of a difference with their preparation, game-planning, or player development.

Shhh, according to some posters TN will never win with this coaching staff. Can't wait to not see you on this board next after Butch starts winning. Or maybe you'll do a 180 and snuggle up to butchs sack? Guess we will see. Either one will be fun to see.

This^^^^ He wouldn't have been playing for us either. Sad to see somebody so young with talent get railroaded by injuries. Here's hoping he can get it fixed and it doesn't cost him his career like Lattimore.

Hmm didn't know that. Guess him staying wouldn't have mattered

Just wanted to play out a little scenario while we wait on Bowl news.

Having just one offensive lineman from the last group; would it have made much of a difference? Could the Vols have won a couple more games? Would the playmakers have had any more time to make plays, score points and mask the shortcomings of this group? Could Tiny have made himself more money by being the standout of the group?

I know this is a lot of questions but they all seem to say yes to me. Of course, this is all hypothetical and hindsight is 20/20 now. What say you?

i think Tiny would have played as many minutes for us this year as he has played for the Vikings. I think he is still recovering from some sort of micro fractures. So your thoughts on him leading from a field were unlikely in the first place.

He couldn't even keep up with the snap count

I remember some absolute idiots in preseason saying that this line would be better than last season's line. It was actually more than a few. Our line was a lot worse than people realize. We had no tackles. So yes,a Tiny helps immensely and anybody making smartness jokes about him is a fool.

He would have been on the sideline after his knee surgery.

Some of the same idiots said the same thing about the all new DL, replacing every starter. Yet, they were right!

Prediction is difficult, especially about the future.

Now as far as Tiny staying ... I thought @ this 4-5 days ago. Weird. But, with healthy knees (that's two what ifs), I believe it could have made a world if difference for our line. That being said, the weak side was nor the only problem. Remember OU utterly exposing the strong side and nearly killing Worley? It happened all season, and in the interior as well. Worley (and Dobbs v UM) got pounded from all three directions.
Therefore Tiny plugs a hole, but the other two would still have gushed badly. May have gotten us another win. Maybe

I noticed more than one person make comments about the coaching staff. I think if anything this scenario shows how small the margin of error was this year. In this hypothetical situation, it is arguable that just one player on the offensive line could've made a difference on this team. Think about it: we went from a 2nd year All SEC left tackle to a 5th yr walk on with a torn ACL. That pretty much sums up the shake up on the line this year. I am not saying the coaching staff made all the right calls. But to argue that the coaching staff actually hindered this offense is very short sighted considering what they had to work with. As for the knee issue, I feel like Tiny couldve had surgery in the offseason and been ready to go by the Georgia game. Considering he went straight from the end of the season to training for the draft, there was no time for repair. Bad call on Tiny's part IMO.

Oline is much different than dine sir. It takes allot of time for an oline to gel whereas dine players get by on their athleticism, strength and technique. Nobody survives losing oline players. My goodness, during tge Bama game last week, it was discussed how much they missed their starting center!!!!!!! Look at how they've recruited! You would think they would have a bunch of plug and play guys but the oline is not like that. Our fans are brilliant, I tell ya.
