I wonder what they would think about the fans or how they would feel about the different things we talk about.

Many do read it. I'm sure they do the same thing that most of us do ... shake their heads and wonder how to fix stupid.

(By the way, duct tape doesn't fix stupid but it does muffle the sound)

anonymity allows some to be more harsh than necessary but I hope nothing about their play on the field is a surprise. Pointing out mistakes and discussing them isn't really a bad thing

I've thought this myself.

Maybe they get mad. Maybe they think about some of the critical, but rational, posts here and recognize their faults.

Because here's the plain and simple.

UT is 4-5 and just lost by a combined score of 76-13. That's not fan opinion. That's fact. The D has given up 981 yards in the last 2 games. That's not fan opinion either. That's fact.

If they want to come on here to get fluffed... they're in the wrong business. That's just the way it is.

mostly, they laugh at the things fans say on these message boards. they read a lot of them for entertainment.. and get a lot of it.

have talked with them about it for years. they are amazed at the lack of understanding of how college football works..

I am sure they do. Although our coach just called the entire team soft. So whoever thinks that these kids may get on here and get their feelings hurt are idiots. These kids will blow what we say off. They aren't going to blow off getting called soft by their HC though. I hope they come out and play disciplined physically tough football this week. I can handle a loss. I cant handle getting blown off the field because of stupid mistakes.

Yes they lost by a lot. To two top ten teams and UT is coming off the Dooley years. Fans like you want to be negative because they want an instant fix. Sure I would have liked to have gone undefeated this year. And there's not a game we went into that I didn't think we might could pull the upset but reality is, we are rebuilding. You constantly kick someone when they are down and it really plays with the mind. These are kids. Give them a chance to mature and learn under who I think is a master at getting the most out of his team. These kids aren't going to UT to make you happy, they are going to get an education and play the sport they love. Do you honestly think they like losing????? It's not going to be long that UT will be back on top, and you will be singing praises along with all the other negative posters.

I dont have any great insight into the world of college football and I admit that I am amazed at the general lack of understanding of anything shown by many on here.

Sometimes I feel like Doc Holiday in Tombstone when I read some fans posts. He said "Well Ike, maybe Poker isn't your game...I know...let's try a spelling contest". (or something to that effect)

If they're smart, they embrace it as the byproduct of a passionate fanbase that actually cares about their success. An apathetic fanbase is an indicator of a dying program. We can't, and never should, accept what we saw on Saturday. I think it important to note, the crowd gave these players a standing ovation following the UGA LOSS. Fans can be reasonable when they see maximum effort and heart, win or lose. But I think it perfectly acceptable to reject strongly, the opposite.

If the players read this, I hope they realize they are the practice squad for the SEC. Mediocre
players equal below par results!

Yeah, I'd like to post more, but then I'd have to argue with a lot of irrational, impulsive (seemingly drunk) posters. It's not worth it. I just choose to read most of the time.
