How bad would it be for UT athletics and the state in general?

What? Does this deserve its own thread? This seems like a question you could have just asked in the thread alleging "the boom" is coming down.

Mass riots, possibly civil war. Oak Ridge would have a nuclear meltdown. The choo-choo would go off its tracks. Music industry would move recording studios to Branson. The animals at the Memphis zoo would would all be thrown in the river. Rocky top itself would collapse*.

Total and utter chaos. Life as we know it may cease to exist.

(*- Yes, I know it's technically in North Carolina but play along.)

if the BOOM comes down...then Tennessee will play great in the year 2012, but not be bowl eligable. 2013 a decent year but a slight drop from 2012. Then we won't recover until 2016

In in other words, if we are dealt major penalties in our main sport and source of $$ how bad would it be? I hope it doesn't happen, just all the rumors and talk has made me a bit anxious..

Probably would not have to commit to 2 nights at a jacked-up rate to get a room at the Hilton on game night. Is that bad? Maybe for some.

Probably play all the future games, recruit, win some, lose some, in other words pretty much the same. It may hurt for a few years but unless we get the SMU penalty I think we will be fine.

Then it will be like '05, '08 and '10 all over again. We will have a lot of losing seasons in a short period of time, considering our current situation.

I don't know how football could get hit with major violations, basketball maybe. Hammy leaving a few days before we meet the AA does scare me though!

Hard to say what the NCAA will do, but...given the problems in both the hoops and football programs, the dreaded "LOIC" cloud does loom over our heads.

If they treat them separately (not likely), then basketball gets the worst of it.

I do have this ominous feeling that (a) Hamilton knows he would not have survived the NCAA ruling, and (b) The NCAA will probably use whatever penalties it levies against UT to set up for a hammer-job on tOSU.

What's done is done. Now all that remains is to wait and see what the final cost will be.

Go Vols.

I keep reading posts that actually think the resignation was voluntary. That's funny.
