What if Sports Predicts Weeks 8-10

Here are the predictions for TN week 8-11. Each game is simulated 10,000 times and the scores are averaged out as well as the % of times the team wins.

TN 8 AL 28 Alabama wins 95% of the games
TN 20 SC 6 Tennessee wins 84% of the games
TN 33 Memphis 9 Tennessee wins 95% of the games
TN 12 Miss 34 Ole Miss wins 93.7% of the games
TN 18 Van 8 Tennessee wins 74.1% of the games
TN 23 KY 9 Tennessee wins 95% of the games

This puts TN at 8-4 with losses coming to Florida, Georgia, Alabama & Ole Miss, which most of us probably expect... though we still may get GA! I was surprised that we did so well against SC. I kinda thought that would be a hard fought game with us coming out on top but the computer seems to think we do well. Vandy looks a bit tricky as well.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

I think it falls right in line with what I've been saying all along. We will finish the regular season at 8-4 and end up at either the Chick Fil-A or Capital One bowl this year.

Those scores sound good to me, hopefully we do that well against SC tho. How about predictions for the first 7 weeks?

Yeah right along the lines of what everyone has been guessing. I think we will play better against Bama and I am still not sold on Ole Miss being that good yet. 8-4 is not a bad turn around when you consider everything that we have changed.

SI had us going to the Chick-fil-a bowl playing GA Tech.

Interesting that all of the probabilities are so high, the lowest is 74%. The simulation is very confident in its results. I would have thought the USCe and auburn probabilities would be closer to 50%... maybe the fact that we get those games at home makes the difference?

It would be interesting to see what factors they take into account and the algorithm used to calculate this stuff.

I don't recall i played WIS games for a bit before they got stale but their engine accounts for a small percentage for home field advantage

I tried running the 98 Vols vs. 08 Gators and nothing happens when I hit "play game". I checked and don't have a pop up blocker on or installed - just doesn't work for me and I tried on Firefox as well as I.E.

Odd.

Yeah, I did the exact same thing. After being driven into virtual insanity, I decided that TN would win 28-27 with Peerless Price taking a hitch 84 yards to the house with 1:20 to go in the game. Whew! Glad we got that resolved!

I been saying 8-4 all along too, doing the season but I hope Tenn. pull off on GA, ALA, and Ole Miss. even they just pull off two of the three teams that I listed. I be real happy with that. I just hope that the vols shock people when they play Fla. but anything can happen in the SEC football season. So Tenn. win 8 games or more I really think that will surpise people who be saying Tenn. will do nothing. GO VOLS:rock:
