I don't know why everyone is so pissy.
Less speculative hypothetical than anything ever offered in a Gruden thread.
We werent too far from keeping the brickster for another pathetic sinking season. But the memetic herd around here is easy to cattle drive. So screw you, OP.
Remeber Currie really DID NOT WANT TO FIRE LYLE. At all. He was hoping against hope to hold on another year. That was well known and well feared. A good vol fan was near cheering for lsu and mizzou.
There would be no joy in Tennessee, if Lyle and company had remained. He had lost the team. Would be a silent and sad offseason leading to a season where we probably pull a LSU an trigger an early firing considering our brutal front end loaded schedule next year.
But then we would still have Currie. Gives me the heebee jeebies to think about the what-ifs. Schiano and currie for next five years is far worse possibility than butch and currie entering next year.
I am so damn grateful vol fans, alumni, boosters and fulmer stepped up.
Things look really really good to me right now. It's amazing how we ended up.
Great to be a Tennessee Vol, and glad I can say that, loudly, with pride and great expectations.
