This was just one instance that comes to mind, but the point is there was clearly ZERO CONTINUITY on the OL. As Pruitt himself has said repeatedly, picking the best 5 to play on the OL is all about minimizing mistakes. But, to minimize mistakes, our players have got to have some continuity - play in and play out. The revolving door that featured new OL members coming in out / shifting positions was a disaster - not by our players - but by our coaching staff.

This is a big reason why we stopped running effectively after the 1st quarter.

Staff wanted to "test" as many guys as possible to see which new guys could perform on gameday?

Staff didn't feel pressured to produce the "best line" possible, since this was a cupcake game, so time for experimentation?

There were undisclosed injuries?

Staff isn't very good?

The take away for me from this game is that our coaching staff isn't the "best staff in the country" as Pruitt has boasted. Clearly. We just lost to a team without a SINGLE 4* player on its roster.

Whatever the issue is here - such that Coach Friend can't take 4* and 5* talent and run against a crap team like GS - it needs to be nipped in the bud like pronto.

My exact thoughts as well OP , and didn't Pruitt address this at SEC media days . As one of the things he learned at being a first year coach was to quit changing people at different positions . So they could build some continuity .

You hit the nail on the head! Been wondering a long time about this. Maybe it’s a valid plan at schools he coached at with dominant lines 3 deep but it didn’t work here last year and it won’t this year.
Somebody please explain why they keep doing it??????

In the NFL. He was a mixed bag here for a year. Any pro-style offense ... stymied. UGA never crossed our 40YL. Held undefeated NC Bama to 13 and we should have won. But, when the spread tempo offenses with mobile QBs came around ... Disaster. I think Tyrod Taylor and Dexter McCluster are still running up and down the field.

Mixed bag.

It was a creative stunt that put the 2 tackles on a stunt right where they normally would be with both DEs rushing the edges. Just a different look. Darryl Taylor blew his contain assignment and allowed a stop for no gain to become a 9.5yd run and easy 1st down.

It wasn't as dire as it appeared. What is dire is a 5th year senior trying to make a big play instead of being disciplined in his assignment. Turned an easy 4th & 8 punt down into 4th and inches and a first down.

Here's a dumb question why are we not throwing the fade or back shoulder throw to 1 of our 4 6'3 WR with a 3, 5, 7 step drop? Hello, if your OL can't block more than 3 seconds then get the ball out of the QB hands quicker so that the DL gets tired of rushing at him for no result.

Your last comment of not being able to take 4 and 5* talent and develop them when I think lane Kiffin's 1st year they had walkon's in the OL who have outperformed this bunch
