What I learned from the Georgia game.

get up on the line and don't allow any substitutions, stand around for those 20 seconds or so,by pointing at defensive players

then get set and run off any more time

then run the play

of course I'm guessing at it :)

I wish they would do that. That staying down in their stances for 20 plus seconds doesn't seem like a good plan

I learned it takes 21 point deficit for the coaches to open up the offense and let it all hang out. I learned 81 (GA) can't catch a ball in the clutch, I'm glad this board would have melted if he caught the ball, they went for two and won it when the we could have won it with a 4th and half a yard to pick up a first and the The last GA drive is moot...But let's not look in the rear view mirror... Buck Fama, put on more steam, GoVols!!

Why does everyone That mentions that drop by UGA forget it was on their second to last possession at around the 3:30 mark?

Even if he had caught it we had plenty to of time to score again. If you recall we took the lead twice.

These same commentors also ignore the 2 dropped interceptions we should have had on their final drive.

You are right, had the drop been a TD, we still had time to drive down the field and score for the win, that has been not worked out well for us, playing from behind late in the game, after having the lead. Seems once we get in the protect mode on Offence, it's hard to get it back going, although, in the first OT Vs OU, we made short work of getting our points. Very glad that defense held up for the win by getting the stop.

Missing those picks, kept giving Ga hope, never saw a QB as happy as Ga's, than on that last pick we missed, CBS called had that #26 given up on the play, I think Jr would have brought it in, need to get that pick clean, that may be Jr is DB and not a TE.

Can't tell you how many times I've heard "If Chubb didn't get hurt we wouldn't have won." this week. Shut up and enjoy the win!!

A player like Chubb, is a difference maker, but even with him in, that would not have stopped our offense.

When you are running a no huddle hurry up offense, how do you properly let the play clock run down to protect a late lead? I don't like seeing the OL down in their stances for 20 plus seconds. It seems that you are just asking for movement. Happened to Kyler last week and hard to blame him.

They should just wait longer to break the huddle.

The Vols defense denied the Bulldogs on the final play.

The Vols prevented the bulldogs from snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

The Vols finally were on the winning side of a close game, plus a great comeback.

Same old UG Bulldogs team a team that underachieves by losing the major games in the regular season.

Richt throwing a hissy fit is priceless.

The Vols when they have a lead need to not play conservitive, and I hope vols don't return to the conservitive style after this game.

Not sure what you mean by JJ needs to block down field. I'm assuming you meant Juan on the wheel pass. From looking at it, it looked like he saw the pass go to Wolf and was turning his head to find someone to block and just didn't see the defender.

We scored on the drive, so it didn't impact the outcome, but details like that makes a difference against better opponents. Sometimes if you don't score on a play, the very next one you have a turnover.

You have your offense standing at the ready watching. You see one guy trying to get out or in, you get set and snap the ball. Easy 5 yards. No team will sub if all it takes is for you to bend down and get set to snap the ball.

wolf dropping that TD in the first half against georgia comes to mind. that ball was perfectly placed too

The one in the back of the end zone, when he was diving, and came lose when he landed, yes he should have held on, seems we have a lot of receivers that use their body to catch instead of their hands. Also if the play is to go diving to the back of the end zone and the pass is gonna be thrown at the ground. I just think we should run a play where somebody is open and if no one is open Dobbs need to take off with it, there are times when Dobbs needs to thread the needle, not in the first half, or on first downs.

One thing I do know:

I like the idea of catching them not ready, if they decide to just stack the line to stop the run and don't sub, what's the play call that gets the 1st down, to ice the game? I like the idea of breaking the huddle, go 5 wide, if they don't burn a time out, for having the wrong personnel in the game one of the 5 will get open, if not Dobbs got to be ready to pull it down and take off. The idea we're not running the clock out, we are going for another score(thanks Beasley).
