Marsalis Teague was the top WR in the Western Kentucky game and I don't think he has caught a pass since. Is he injured? Did he get in someones doghouse?
He appeared to run good routes and get open on a regular basis and looked like he would be a definite contributor. Just wondering

He's better than Gerald Jones right now. I say play him. I thinkl Jones making an excuse for being out in the end zone is a piece of crap. Saying Crompton should have hit him earlier on the route. That was well thrown ball that he should have made count. I think Teague would have made that a touchdown for us.

Crompton threw for less than 100 yards in the last 2 games. Hard for any WR to have any play with a QB like that!

I didn't read that but not surprised. Maybe JC could have thrown it a sec earlier (thought it was a good ball too) but there's no excuse for just running out of bounds and taking yourself out of the play completely

There was an article that suggested Teague's run blocking wasn't up to par. Need the bigger, stronger, more experienced guys in there with the dink and dunk, run O they will be running from here on out.

A combination of not playing Western KY every game and a QB with the mindset of Tim Robbins in Bull Durham.

IIRC Kiffin was playing Jones and Moore in the last two games because they are better at run blocking. But the downside is that this has hurt the passing game.

We need WRs who can catch passes AND run block, AND a QB who can throw it to them. (Next year?)

Next year will be good were having so many great wide outs coming in we wont have to worry and teague will be a year older so i think he starts next year IMHO....

NO QB= NO WRs, u cant be productive at wideout when u aint productive at QB!

NO WRs = NO QB. You can't be productive at QB when you ain't productive at WR.

Crompton has played poorly but so have the WR's and in particular Jones and Moore. If I don't miss my guess that's probably why CLK hasn't pulled Crompton. He knows the problems don't start and end with him alone.

Hopefully it will start to gel and we'll all be pleasantly surprised and having threads about how we'd like another shot at UF and UCLA.

Yep, I read last night that Kiffin said the wide receivers are also to blame for the lack of our passing game.

C'mon man, if we had Pickens/Gault/Meachem at WR and Witten at TE our passing game would still be mediocre. If Ainge was somehow still here for his Sr season we're almost certainly 3-0.

It'd be easier to argue that the WR's were, for instance, not getting open if we hadn't repeatedly seen Crompton miss open receivers. And that's not even counting when he didn't even throw to the open receiver.

There is your answer. I am pretty sure Marsalis has started all 3 games. But once it becomes apparent that Crompton cant pass on the current team either, they use the heavier/more experienced WRs who can run block. Teague has only played QB and Safety in high school. So I am sure his run blocking is not as good right now as someone with the experience.

But on that note, I would love to see him take some snaps in the wildcat. I have seen every high school game he has ever played, while he wouldnt have as strong an arm as say Crompton, he would atleast be of SOME threat with the run. As right teams are going to stack the box and make Crompton beat them...and...well...I dont like the thought of that.

The simple answer is that we can't throw the ball downfield, and CLK is playing the bigger, older receivers who can run block better.
