What has happend with Nick Lamaison?

Nothing happened. He's not an SEC quarterback.

Also, stop acting like you people know what you're talking about with Bray. That dude is 17 and just showed up on campus. Ridiculous expectations on a fringe 4 star recruit. The key to him is "potential." He's a beanpole. He's not ready to play in the SEC anytime soon.

Says who, sean? You, and no one else, has heard anything that says one way or the other.

There are too many one here that take the opinion of other posters as gospel fact.

The idea that Lamaison was brought in for depth only, and sucks, and can't get the snap count ever, etc, etc is something started and perpetuated by volnation.com/forum. The ONLY thing I ever saw or heard from coaches was that he had trouble the first day with the snap count. Who doesn't? If everyone could get the snap count on the first try, we wouldn't even use it. Defensive lines would manhandle us.

A couple gurus said he sucked, everyone picked up on it, and now Lamaison sucks. The guy came in a couple weeks before the season started...the coaches didn't have time for him to do anything other than run the scout team.

I'm not saying he'll come in and win the starting job, but you don't throw for 3000 yards and suck.

God point. Lams may never play--but I've yet to read a word from anyone that was authoritative concerning his ability or lack thereof....

Says reality. I live there. I welcome a lot of other posters to join me.

Based on what? Anything? The guy has now been on campus for 5 months. In no way has he had TIME to do anything but run scout team. It took Crompton 7 months + 3 games before he got his head on straight with this offense.

You don't know one way or the other whether Lamaison is capable of playing SEC ball.

Maybe he can't, maybe he can, but you don't have a clue. There's not a single poster on here that knows. No one has seen him play.

No doubt about it. I have no idea one way or another if Lamaison can play SEC ball. That's my point, so we're on the same page. Neither does anyone else here. Bottom line: He's a middle of the road JUCO transfer. Chances are, he isn't going to make an impact. That's just how it goes. I hope he proves me wrong.

Good post making some great points.
Opinions on this board are usually formed by a few posters. They make their call on a player or situation and most others agree. The ones who choose not to are usually ridiculed.

As for Lamaison? I have no idea how far he will go at UT.
I will leave it up to Kiffin and crew to decide if he is good enough or not. After all that is Kiffin's job not mine.

Oh when did Coach Kiffen inform you that Bray will reshirt or is that your "expert" opinion?

Middle of the road? Really...got a link somewhere that indicates he was just another schmoe in the JUCO ranks. Lamaison was 1st team JUCO AA last season. Just because we NEED depth doesn't mean he was brought in to ride the bench. If he can play here like he did last year at his school, he may very well be our starter. Not saying he will, but he will be given the chance to win it, just like Stephens, Bray and now Simms.

What's funny is he had better stats than Simms. I look forward to seeing how well they all do. I doubt even the staff knows who's going to step up, just yet...so let's give it a rest and wait and see before we start writing anyone off.

bray will redshirt. He has all the upside in the world. Give some bulking up time and a year to learn the system he will compete with the 5 star recruits next year. I was unaware that if your a 5 star you get the nod automatically.

I think you make a valid point. I'm routing for whoever lines up behind our O-line. BTW, as far as Lamaison is concerned, I believe he threw for 3500 yards and 36 TDs...and led the nation in the JUCO ranks. GBO!

If stats meant everything, then Texas Tech would have more starting NFL QBs than any other school.

True, but clearly stats do mean something or we wouldn't care about 5 star this or 4 star that. Hmmm.:whistling:

You can't discount them either...it's circular reasoning with some folks....they are just going to think what they want to think and refuse to let the facts get in their way. If they don't have amazing stats, they suck...if they do have amazing stats, they still suck...cause supposedly stats don't mean anything. BS!
