Well yeah, it's gonna be nuts. Coaches can't be judged much this year. And any champion is sort of suspect jmo
I think the conference championships should be considered legitimate. There will be asterisks all over the national championship. I don't think that should bother anyone though. It's better than nothing.

Yup. It doesn't matter who or how they won a championship. Half the country will contest it saying not everyone got to play so it's pointless. If we get to play most of a season and we're competitive I'll be happy .

Over the last four years, the national champion has been Bama (twice) or Clemson (twice). The runner-up has been Bama (twice), Clemson (once), or Georgia (once). Every one of those teams are playing this fall.

But go even a level deeper. The playoff semi-final participants who lost in the first round and didn't make it to the championship game over the past four years include Oklahoma (three times), Clemson (once), Notre Dame (once), Ohio State (once), Washington (once), and Michigan State (once).

That means that of the total 16 participants in the CFP these past four years, 13 are covered by teams playing this fall.

I think if we get to holding the playoffs, they are totally going to be legit. Let the B10, PAC, Baby B10, and Baby PAC cry that they were left out, but they chose this life.

Go Vols!

What happend if/when Tennessee is playing in a big game vs say TAMU or AUburn and is playing lights out. JG, a couple of LB's or 2-3 OL go out due to COVID protocal; and cant play that week or the next? I was thinking of Tennessee's "luck" or lack thereof and how this season might be 5-5 or 4-6 and we play really well but we keep losing players to COVID for a game or two and lose those games.

It could happen the other way playing Alabama and they lose like Waddle a QB and 2-3 of their OL before our game. Not going to happen under Saban, BUT you never know. If we have to cancel games ot forfeit games is this year going to have an astriek beside it??

I mean we might get 10 games of no COVID and very few injuries and all goes as planned with 25% filled Neyland and be 7-3 or 8-2. But with COVID you never know what you are going to get and NO ONE will have home field advantage. That will really hurt us against Kentucky and TAMU becuase those are big swing games the crowd can really really help......

To continue beating my dead horse: depth, depth, depth. Virtually everybody on the roster has to be able and ready to play.

Whoever wins the SEC this is very legit, especially if there are no delays and not many if any players that don't miss any games. As far as opting out, that is fair game for everyone. But to try to minimize the winner is weak and stupid. This will be a war for whoever wins it. Some on here, have moved on from it's crazy if you think we are going to play to it won't mean much to the winner. BULLHOCKEY! Let's get it on! GBO!!!!!!

Covid protocol is BEFORE games not during them, some folks got to try to stir up a bad scenario. Not talking about you Denmark, more to the person you were responding too. And this crap about the year not being legit, what a load of crap. Just wait till it gets started, the SEC is going to be a exciting race, and all the big 10 and pac can do is watch! But that was their decision, the players on them teams are really going to get ansy when these games start being played. GBO!!!!!

SEC+ACC+big 12= 3 out of 5, majority rules.
