What happens IF....

If he does then he needs to be fired for not doing this sooner. Do not think Dooley can help on defense anyways. I think the next coach of the Vols will be between Charlie Strong (good defense cord.at Florida) Dan Mullen, or Bobby Petrino. I wish it is Gruden but i do not think that will happen.

Bobby Petrino? Your post lost all credibilty after saying that!

Dooley becomes more involved on Defense and we look like a new team? Lets say we win out, hold down all opponents offenses and keep scoring big?

After reading some of our resident insider's comments concerning buyouts and Hart taking some credit for our woes on D, it looks like Dooley is here for 2013.

If the above mentioned happens, do we pour some support for this team and Dooley? I think Dooley can get it done and may have this year without our trouble on D...beyond the switch to the 3-4 we have 6-8 guys starting right now that were either injured, in juco or hs last year!

As short back as this morning I was ready to move on but I'm feeling a little more forgiving this afternoon.

So I guess you'll be for extensions and raises by 9 pm?

Sorry but you don't wait until the season is basically over and you just got rolled by the entire SEC for 3 years before deciding to "do something about the defense". No man. This is excuses at it's finest.

Dooley could hold the rest of the teams scoreless and win a bowl game but the people on here would still want his head.

Im starting to think Dooley will be here next year and our D staff will get a big overhaul. Before I get bashed this isn't my wish just opinion.

I agree with you, the only way I see them terminating CDD is lose to Vandy or KY. I don't agree with it, but my gut says even if he gets them to 6-6 and a bowl win he stays. If he gets beat by Vandy or KY I think they terminate him.

LOL@Dooley saving the day. So, the man waits back and watches as we get beat like a drum in October. He almost gets us beat VS Troy and NOW he is going to step in and help the defense and get us to win out. Mizzou, Vandy, and UK. Oh yeah, obviously the future would look great if Dooley could pull that off. :eek:lol:

This is the same coach that left Bray on the bench till the schedule weakend at the end of his freshman year and then let him pad the stats vs the scrubs. Maybe ole Dooley is going to try and use the same scrubs to save his job. No run game for 2 years and no clue how to fix it. CSP & CJG fix that in year 3. Fixing the defense could take Dooley 8 years. People said Dooley needed a big win this year to save his job. Dooley needed to beat a ranked team. Now people feel if he can just get past Vandy & UK he should get an extension. GTFO!!! A UT fan should be ashamed to even think of this bum running this team next year.

Hey I wish and hope we could get a "SABAN" savior of a coach into Knoxville...the question is, if the powers that be don't see that as even a question at this point (which seems to be the case) and the major boosters (who now have an NFL team to toy around with instead) dont see it as feasible and Dooley "saves the day" as you put it... does happen, could our fans get behind Dooley and support UT instead of "making a statement" in protesting games and such?

I believe I could....

Tennessee beating Mizzou, Vandy, and UK proves nothing. They SHOULD beat these teams every year without any doubt. The fact we go into these games thinking we could lose tells us we need a new coaching staff. I have said it alot. I don't think we need a homeeun type hire. We need a proven CAPABLE coach. There would be 50 names to choose from ranging in salary from 2 million to 4 million to choose from. ALL would be an upgrade over a career losing scrub. I don't need to see UT beat UK by 6 in front of 47,000 people to know this team is in serious trouble without a new coaching staff.

I agree with what you are saying, unfortunately we may not have a choice...unless you want to boycott football the rest of this year and possibly next, which I don't think people will do....and what I saying is if the only way to convey to people that a change is demanded is to not attend that plan could be counter productive if the decision CAN'T be made to change head coaches...

Its like shooting yourself in the foot...and for the record I can't remember a time when I haven't been worried about winning week in and week out LOL....no matter who we were playing.

By Hart's silence thus far, I hope you are wrong, but am afraid you are right about Dooley being kept another year. The problem with just an overhaul of the defense is that with Dooley as head coach we will have the same pathetic game management.

I do not think for 1 second that a change could not be made. Cheek or someone over at UT could try and stop it and give all the reasons that football should not be a priority, but football is the money maker. Take away the fan support and that money factory will close down. They can either spend the money for a winner, or watch it collapse....the folks over at UT do have a choice in it. They could just allow football at Tennessee to become Vandy of 3 years ago. Maybe they are ok with that. We have a Bammer and a Gator running things. Maybe that was the plan all along.

Right on the money LV,beating these 3 prove nothing...UT should beat these teams every year,as you said the coach
don't have to be a homerun hire it just to needs to be a solid hire and there are several of them out there,no matter the outcome of the last 3 games CDD needs to be FIRED!

Have you seen our recruiting? We are getting ready to have possible one of the worst classes in UT history since the Bill Battle era. We are looking at unranked kids in Florida, and Chattnooga. We have kids looking to jump ship who are committed.

Bad coaches don't all of a sudden get good. Coaches that make bad decisions don't all of a sudden start making good decisions. Coaches that finish in the lower thrid of recruiting rankings in the SEC don't win divisional championships.

I am amazed daily at the amount of posters who are allowing and supporting our transformation from UT to UK in football. Wake up, please.

losing brings on apathy...just like coaches some fans just don't get it
