What happened with the coaches after the game? (Nothing that had anything to do with CWH showing disrespect)

As much as we fund their athletic department with this game, we can get our subs real snap experience and run up the score all we want.

Also if we wanted to run up the score, Joey and the starters would have played the 3rd quarter instead of the the 1st two.

Will Healey is getting a bad rap on here because of something that didn't even happen. I've known of him since he went to a local High school here in Chattanooga. The kid could play QB! He's a man of good character that's not going to instill "sore loser mentality" into his players. And no I'm not his dad or have unnatural feelings for him "Mongo straight" 🤣 . Let's move on and focus the Vol Nation venom on the dogs.
Agreed. I knew him once upon a time. Good guy from everything I remember. I have followed his career and hope he sees success.

ā€œWe got our rear end kicked by a really, really good football team and a well-coached football team. Give them a lot of credit. I have a lot of respect for Coach Heupel. Their staff is really good. I think their players are really good. I thought they suffocated us early and we were never able to really come up and catch our breath. Got behind the chains a couple times on the offensive side of the ball and turned it back over quickly. Put our defense in bad field positions constantly. We would lack at communication at one spot and give up a big play. Forced them into a couple third downs, but they had some really big completions, a couple touchdowns in those third-and-long situations. It was a rear-end whooping."

Doesn't sound like sour grapes to me. He is 100% correct too.

Dude, I remember that. Donnan cussed him too.

Was that the game Manning did the sneak, got pushed back and threw the TD?
Donnan said after the game ā€œhe’s under alot of pressure up hereā€. Fool got fired a couple years later.

The Four Steps to a meltdown:

Step 1 : Announcer speaks cryptically about something taking place off-video: "I dunno if you saw it, but there was a very awkward interaction with the coaches at midfield...."

Step 2 : Announcers never follow up to explain what that meant, leaving door open to speculation.

Step 3: Fans suppose the losing coach probably must have disrespected the winning coach in some way (utterly untrue, as it turns out, but not illogical as a supposition).

Step 4: Someone on a fan forum asks what it was all about, and dozens of people start posting vitriol based on their wrong assumptions; the non-existent slight takes on a life of its own, and soon a crowd with pitchforks is on the e-march.

I swear, sometimes I think the internet is the greatest invention of mankind, and sometimes I believe it will destroy civilization entirely.

Go Vols!

Even under Fulmer we sometimes struggled getting our back-ups into games against cupcakes. Fulmer’s offense was so slow-paced, always trying to control the clock. Well, when you do that, your offense gets less plays, thus less yards, thus less points. Under Fulmer, we would often beat the cupcake teams with scores like 24-3. We rarely had time for our back-ups to play more than one drive because of it. And Fulmer never allowed the back-up QB to throw. It was always running plays when the back-up was in. It drove me crazy.

This was so infuriating. Just dumb. Its also why Spurrier owned him. Slow and methodical can't outscore a quick strike offense over time. How many times did we methodically plod our way down the field for 12 or 13 plays to get a FG...and then Spurrier dial up a killer and they scored a TD in less than a minute? It was so demoralizing.

This thread was a great example of how rumors fire up the country and to a greater extent, the world.
It was literally said on a Nationally Televised game by the broadcaster.. It's not our faults that we were curious... If the announcer says Tennessee won 72-56 and I didn't see the score in person, that's what we'd believe.

The announcers said themselves at the end of the game.

They assumed as well. It was later discovered that Healey initially bypassed the handshake to go break up a confrontation between a Tennessee and ETSU player. Heupel followed him to assist. Healey did nothing but praise our program after the game and even said we are a CFP contender.

There’s nothing wrong with being curious and I haven’t seen your comments so I’m not judging you; but many people were talking about what a piece of crap Healey was. I was just pointing out that it was an interesting microcosm of our society in general.

In my opinion, the slow and methodical method is useful when you are a huge underdog. If you are able to limit the number of offensive snaps your overpowering opponent has, that could help you. The less total plays, the more impactful fluke plays can be in the game, and fluke plays can be really helpful to an underdog. So that’s the only time I think it should be implemented.

It didn’t bother me as much against Florida or Georgia as it did against easier opponents, for the reasons of not being able to get back-up players valuable reps. But instead, we’d have to leave our starters in the game late in the 4th quarter, risking injury to them.

I still remember the big win over Georgia during the Peyton yeards when they showed Jim Donnan on the sideline yelling across the field, "Hey, Fulmer!"
I remember…. He cursed Fulmer in front of his daughter at midfield after the game. I hate GA.

A lot of small school coaches have got pissed at Heup during his time here cause he will run up the score on them. Jim Mora at UCONN in 2023 season was really pissed at Heup over him running it up on UCONN.
I've not heard anyone complaining on FSU putting up 77 on that school
