What happened with the coaches after the game? (Nothing that had anything to do with CWH showing disrespect)

I live in the TRI. After they beat our baseball team 1 game (ONE GAME) these yokels wouldn’t shut up about it (to be clear, not all of them - just a select few).

To get their backsides handed to them in this one just makes me smile. We did what we had to do, got 3rd (and 4th) team reps and handled them the way we should. They can get over it. They got their check, if they’ve got a problem with it - learn to defense.

Heupel is good for playing backups the entire 2nd half and those players do need reps running the normal offense.
Having said that, 72 points seems a bit much. Saban never ran the score up on these lesser opponents. He found a way to play the backups and not humiliate the opponent.
Piss on Saban and the horse he rode in on

I love the way Heupel never takes a knee in these games, but instead lets the 3rd/4th stringers get real reps. Any opposing coach that has a problem with it is unreasonable. Do those coaches not also realize that their defense is also getting more rep opportunities when our 4th stringers QB runs a real play? It’s fake outrage because you want to be angry.
Agreed, I think it is way more disrespectful just keeping your first string people in when the game is well in hand and potentially just scoring at will 😂 at least when you go further down the chart one would think the other team would have a greater chance of scoring themselves.. we are very fortunate to get in this position though and shouldn’t take it for granted.. some years we could barely do this with non-SEC teams or not at all (Prui… he who shall not be named)

Feel like most are Vol fans, though, right?

Will Healey is trash. To take umbrage over getting your ass handed to you by an opponents fourth stringers and walk-ons and self righteously pouting is low character. Take your loss and your paycheck like a man and stop showing your ass, and imparting loser mentality i to your players by your poor example! Will Healey will never be anything.
Yes, UT should NEVER give ETSU a pay day again as long as Healey is there!!!

Whatever the expectations were for the matchup, always good for players to see that their coaches don't accept being publicly whooped. Good on them.
IMHO the best way to show your players you don't accept gettin' publicly whooped is:

A) Devise a game plan that doesn't allow your opponent to score 72 points on you
B) Don't schedule a game with a team that is sure to publicly whoop you
C) Don't accept a 6 figure check to get PAID to get publicly whooped

Carry on....

Even under Fulmer we sometimes struggled getting our back-ups into games against cupcakes. Fulmer’s offense was so slow-paced, always trying to control the clock. Well, when you do that, your offense gets less plays, thus less yards, thus less points. Under Fulmer, we would often beat the cupcake teams with scores like 24-3. We rarely had time for our back-ups to play more than one drive because of it. And Fulmer never allowed the back-up QB to throw. It was always running plays when the back-up was in. It drove me crazy.

Dude, I remember that. Donnan cussed him too.

Was that the game Manning did the sneak, got pushed back and threw the TD?
Wasn’t that the game where Donna’s cussed Fulmer at midfield with Fulmer’s daughter with him?

The Tennessee offense finished that game with 628 yards, 343 of which came from Manning’s arm, and Manning’s touchdown pass to Derrick Edmonds with less than two minutes left (and the Vols already up 31-13) so infuriated Donnan that when he met Phillip Fulmer at midfield immediately following the game, he eschewed the customary handshake for a stream of expletives aimed at Fulmer for allegedly running up the score.

Will Healey is getting a bad rap on here because of something that didn't even happen. I've known of him since he went to a local High school here in Chattanooga. The kid could play QB! He's a man of good character that's not going to instill "sore loser mentality" into his players. And no I'm not his dad or have unnatural feelings for him "Mongo straight" 🤣 . Let's move on and focus the Vol Nation venom on the dogs.

Ryan Sylvia - The reporter, was the one who said "ETSU made the trip east to Knoxville." Moron

Will Healy was very complementary:

"We got our rear end kicked by a really, really good football team and a well-coached football team. Give them a lot of credit. I have a lot of respect for Coach Heupel. Their staff is really good. I think their players are really good."

"I think our players really enjoyed having an opportunity to compete against these guys. I think our staff really enjoyed the opportunity to compete against some of the best coaches in the country."

" But again, I go back to the fact of that’s an incredible football team. Unbelievable venue. Ton of respect for this place. Pulling for these guys the rest of the year. They did everything they should’ve done on a game like this to be able to have the success that they wanted. They took control of the game early and never let us breath.”

Class act in my opinion.

I’m thinking you are correct. That has been so long ago that I can’t remember if it was Mannings junior or senior year. Seems that Fulmer may have been trying to help his Heisman campaign with numbers.

Most Coaches in those situations will be looking for another job.
