What happened with Kendrick? Concussion rumors (merged)

Are you sure Mike Leach was fired at Texas Tech under similar circumstances and did so to distance themselves from that kind of thing. No one at Texas Tech wanted to see Leach go, but they fired him anyway to demonstrate that such insensitive and dangerous treatment of student athletes would not be tolerated.

We want to fire Jones, so we should cover it up and pretend like it doesnt exist, for fear of admitting such a situation took place? When theres already information on out there.

Sounds crazy.

Th kid lied about Leach. Took a vid of him in a dark room and said leach was forcing him to stay in their. It was the sports analyst kid.

Incredible how far fans will take their hatred of Butch Jones. Wow.

has nothing to do with hatred for butch. Kendrick shouldn't have been in the game. he was visibly wobbly throughout and they didn't take him out until he threw up. what's incredible is how all yall butch sheep don't give 2 ishes about what's he done to his players. he punched a guy, choked another, played Kendrick with a concussion, and hit multiple players while he was at cincy. doesn't anyone think it was odd that cincy fans were happy to see him leave? Butch is an arsehole and doesn't need to be here

So Jones supposedly over ruled the M.D., training staff, SEC officials, etc, after the NCAA enacted rules to specifically prevent such occurrences? That makes Jones the most powerful guy in CFB, no wonder he hasn't been fired yet.

Beauty of our system is that accusations and allegations aren't enough. There has to be proof. A distinction millennial reactionaries don't quite grasp. A bit early for all these childish tantrums isn't it?

I don't think he gets fired with cause. Ive not seen anything thay proves he knew he was playiing an injured player. If said player comes foward and states Jones knew then it changes everything. It would be nice to spend that buyout on a new coach though.

Trey Wallace reported the story, he also broke the story with the suspended Florida players and McElwain firing. He was endorsed by John Brice last night on twitter, so you tell me is this some fabricated story from the fans?

Source: Butch Jones, Tennessee, played player with concussion in loss to Kentucky

It is very true and very real. Kendrick was put at harms risk for more than just a concussion. When the dust settles I would not be surprised if more than just the skiffs Butch has had here comes out while he was at other places.

Well...I watched the game and we were not hitting anyone. I doubt the player was in danger.😀

See Brady Hoke and what happened to him at Michigan. Then again he is on staff here so...

When I got my concucssion I finished wrestling a tournement. I can in second place and didn't know anything was wrong with me until I got home. I woke up in my room with a medal on and went on the living room and asked my dad how I got there. So I'm not saying what happened is ok, but some do slip through the cracks.

Guys this happened. I don't know how much Butch had to do with it (I'm more blaming the medical staff and the SEC staff they have there as well) but I know for a fact it happened.

Doubt most of you will believe me, but just had to say it

I'm not a millennial, but why? What in the world does your comment have to do with millennials? It's not enough to state your opinion about the situation, you have to try to insult people too? Who is being childish here? Pretty sad.

Don't think anyone is doubting Kendrick had a concussion and may have gone back in after the fact. But what proof is there that Jones knew about it or overruled anyone to put him back in? None...at least so far.

I don't really buy this. The decision would be in the medical staff's hands.

It doesn't. It's just the go to smart response for pumpers that disagree and can't think of anything intelligent to say.

Yep, just slinging mud at the wall to see what sticks is NOT evidence of wrongdoing. There must be additional details that will prove he did so knowingly, intentionally and with reckless abandonment.

At any rate, it's my understanding that once a player is injured and the medical staff becomes aware of the injury it is entirely up to them to clear the injured player to return to the game NOT any of the coaches.

Or he (Coach Jones) simply didn't tell the medical staff

I've seen empty Neyland, go after the admin, go after the Pietro, the chancellor, the AD, look for things to justify firing Butch with cause, etc. There's no end to the intense dislike, venom, hatred some have for this coach. I've seen rumors and accusations, but I've yet to see proof these things you mentioned. Internet rumor and postings from anonymous posters doesn't qualify in my book. Show me anything other than rumor and I'm with you. Until then I'll presume innocence until proven guilty.

Personally, I want a change as well, but I recognize the good things he's done. Don't hate the man for being a bad football coach. He did his best....wasn't good enough and he will lose his job in the coming weeks, but I can't and won't get behind, go along with or support this rumor filled witch hunt....or as the kids today like to call it...."movement". Sorry kid but I'm not programmed that way.

I wish everyone would just calm down. I realize there's very little that we have to wait on within the context today's technology, but this is not "instant coach replacement." They're trying to let him leave with dignity, which speaks volumes about how the administration will treat and support a new coach.

It's okay for fans to attack the reasons why we're unhappy with the status of the program (e.g., nonexistent offense, lack of 2nd string reps, lack of QB development, poor line play, gimmicky scheme, etc. and the results of such). But, the personal attacks and nitpicky allegations are unbecoming of the best fan base in college football.
