What happened with Kendrick? Concussion rumors (merged)

If he’s fine, why wasn’t he at practice today?

Do you know that he wasn't at practice today?

In the Injuries thread, LWS mentioned a handful of guys who didn't practice today, but Brett wasn't one of them. On the other hand, he didn't mention Kendrick among the starting 5 linemen who worked together today, either.

Do we really know anything at all, other than this whole Kendrick - concussion thing might be BS?

Here's LWS's note from the Injuries thread:

Following did not practice today but no word on injuries.

Richmond
Tatum
Sapp
Josh Smith
Eathan Wolf
Buchanan
Page.

Offensive line was

Smith - LT
Robertson LG
Thomas C
Johnson RG
Brooks RT

apparently was concussed Saturday but was left in for 2nd half. Rumor is that he cant even remember what happened during the 2nd half....pretty damning for Butchie if true.

Only damning if they knew

Didn't the NCAA firmly shift concussion protocol monitoring and compliance into the hands of the sidelines medical staff this past off-season, with rules taking effect this year? So if the doc says, 'kid sits,' the kid sits and the coaches can not over-rule?

Wasn't that a rule change they made this year?

The medical staff has to know of an issue before blame falls on them. If he told the staff of an issue and they didn't act, it's on them. If he told no one, there's no one to blame.

That's my understanding also. Coaches have no authority. Medical staff makes the call.

Coaches could still be at fault if they knew something and didn't report it to the medical staff

Does no one remember this happening last year with certain running back? Never took his helmet?? Even played more snaps after going the medical testing???

There is a trend here!

Need way more evidence than people passing rumors around before I'll believe there is anything to it. The player would've had to report it to the coaches and the coaches would've had to tell the player to not speak to the medical staff. I haven't seen anything approaching real evidence that this happened.

I advise all to consider the source of this rumor before buying it. Not saying it isn't true, but I just advise that this be taken with a grain of salt for now. If it is true, and I hope it is not, thoughts and prayers go out to Kendrick.

It’s legit to a certain degree. Not sure when coaches knew.

Seeing something on Twitter.....saying that it gives us an out with Jones. Fire him with cause.

That and in the seventh grade he embellished about that death threat that the girl tuba player made.

1. First their isn't anyone out there that wants the job other than the next Derek Dooley, next Butch Jones, or next Ed Ogeron.

2. Lets be better than Florida -- do we have to make up bull crap stories to try to beat this guy out of his contractually agreed upon payment/buy out?

3. Surely we have more class than Florida. If we want to buy him out for poor performance, buy him out, don't try to cheat him by making up a random made up reason not to pay him.

You're nuts if you think #1 is true.

Wrong again, I heard specifically that from someone who has a building named after him on campus. What have you got that leads you to believe otherwise. They don't want to act because so far they haven't been able to get any decent candidates and they are afraid of another Dooley disaster.

It isn't as easy as everyone thinks. LSU last year ring a bell?

The guy that broke the Florida scandal earlier this year is reporting it being true.
