Coming into the year he was the player i was most excited to watch (minus Eric Berry of course) and watching him in the Army AA game i thought he would be the second coming of Adrian Peterson.

He was extremely fast and agile but strong at the same time. But during the year he looked slow and didn't break hardly any tackles. I know he was in the SEC/had a hip injury, but he also looked chunkier and much less athletic than in the Army AA game.. did anyone else notice that?

Go check the tape from the AA game and then look at his freshman highlights and tell me that looks like 2 completely different players. I wish Bryce the best and hope he gets his legs back under him next year and has a monster year.. that is all.

Yeah I'm going to have to go against you on this one. The hip injury took it's toll on him and he lost a step off of his speed. Which we both know in the SEC means the difference between an average gain and breaking one. He still showed flashes of his abilities, and to be completely honest he never got enough consecutive carries to get into a rythm. He will be the featured back next year and you will see how dominant he can really be. I can see your points, but that's just my personal opinion. Either way hope he has a great season next year as the featured back. GO VOLS!!! And here's to hoping we pick up some really good commits this weekend.

Hip problem most of the year, he will be as advertised next season. He also had a concussion and couldn't go for the bowl game~

He's not going to be like an Ingram. He will be Bryce Brown. Catching passes, blowing by DBs, breaking tackles, making moves...he'll do well. His job to lose.

Brown is going to be fine...This year was a learning experience for him and he showed some signs of what is to come....He is going to be a dynamic player in time.

I agree Brown will be fine. Hip injury did take it's toll on him. Next year should be a break out year for him!

Bryce was sitting behind Hardesty, injured the whole year, had decent recieving yards, AND a pretty good amount of yards in 500. Remeber that he was second string, Bryce doesnt have to play like Trent Richardson and be a second string back and have 700 yards. First we didnt go to the SECGC like Bama did, second Bryce didnt play in the bowl game. So take away those stats and Richardson and Brown have about the same stats.

LOL another Bryce thread?? Did you even watch this year? The kid had a really good year IMO, considering he played as a true freshman behind Montario, played with injuries and headaches all year. With a full year under his belt, he will know this system inside and out, should be 100% healthy, I say he has a breakout year in 2010!!

:hi:
I noticed he did not play in the bowl game with VT. One of the commentators said he was listed as ingured (a slight concussion) they will have him ready by spring.

worst thread ever on here. bryce had 4.5 yards a pop. not to mention he got spotty carries because of a guy named montario. give the guy a break he's a freshman. he was playing against other freshman in the army all american game, not elite SEC talent and not behind a mediocre line.

Was anybody else very impressed with BB's pass-catching skills? He looks so fluid and natural receiving the ball.

Hate to point out the obvious, but you do realize that BB was playing against kids his own age at the AA game? Now he is up against older, faster, smarter, stronger players. This added with the hip injury just may lead to him looking like "two different players."

I hate to be obvious as well but he was playing behind a 23 year old man who combined for around 1800 yards rushing and receiving. That may be why he was not the featured back???????

Number 1, he was a true freshman. #2 he was playing behind a senior who had around 1350 yards. Plus Oku and Poole got a few carries too. He will be fine. Give him time.

Yeah he was a let down thhis year, but you've got to remember he was injured alot. Hopefully not a sign of things to come injury wise.

I wasn't let down in the least by what I saw. A freshman(injured on and off all year) in the SEC running second string to a guy who I think was actually better than Ingram this year after comparing the two ofensive lines can't expect much more. He also showed he has great hands(no fumbles??) and some great catches.

What you said is true but, He played behind the same OL that Montario did and Montario looked much better! I guess he needed a little more time to learn the system and adjust to the speed of the game! It is also hard to play with a hip injury!
