"What Happened at UGA in 2015?"- UGA Beat Writer

This is UGA already outlining excuses why Pruitt will have their number while at UT. He may not do it this season, but it's coming, they know it, we know it, and even Bob Dole knows it.

Good news for us is he’s a head coach and I doubt he’ll take too much **** from anyone else. Let the man do his job. Stoked for the coming years

I think most intelligent people have quietly observed the antics and the yellow journalism of the wannabe muckrakers and realize what it really is.

Bottom Line:

You know your coach is good when the biggest criticism from a rival team is focused on personality conflicts and administrative politics aka not about his actual football coaching.

In case you missed it, UGA kicked our asses on their way to the National Championship game last season and you schmucks are predicting Pruitt will own Georgia and every one of our opponents. Our coach hasn't won a game here yet so why not just support the team and hope he rights the ship? It get tiresome seeing fools predict greatness, dating back to the first coaching change of Kiffin. We SUCKED last season people and I do not see things getting much better for 2-3 recruiting cycles. Only then will we see if Pruitt is the "great coach" many have already crowned him. Good Lord.........:hmm:

Yes, but as a Georgia fan I watched him closely while he was at UGA and can tell you that Pruitt is an exceptional recruiter. And Pruitt brought a couple of good recruiters along for this ride. I agree that it will take at least 2-3 years more to get his recruits in place and the VFL crew need to be patient. CJP just has to be able to now navigate the niceties of the upper echelon of Vol society like Fulmer was able to do; Pruitt will have to be able to follow his lead or he could step on the wrong toes....and he isn't afraid to step on toes.

Need to get started as soon as possible. We all know what Bama does and if Smart puts more classes together like this one, well, I just don't want to be any further behind the 8 ball.

He is just getting started on this class. We will be no less than top 4 this cycle and maybe higher. Sam Pittman is a master recruiter, and Dell McGhee is one of the best in the SEC and both have at least two or three years left on contracts. Pittman is making $650k a year as an OL coach. Heck, Cheney is making bank at $850k and is starting to relinquish some of his duties even. Both have been home run hires for us. Pruitt will get UT better, but it will take him some time and right now Kirby Smart has his guys hitting it pretty good

Smart was 1-1 against Butch Jones. Let that sink in a little bit before you declare UGA this overwhelming juggernaut. One bad season does not a program make I would submit. I also submit we do have talent on The Hill now, and we had a staff under Jones that misused and under utilized it much too often. How and why we found a way to minimalize playing time for Evan Berry and Alvin Kamara are examples of incompetence extraordinaire IMO. IF UGA were confident, there would be no pr campaign underway trying to trash the guy that is spewing forth out of Athens. They'd be more like Bama, a confident program, ambivalent about Pruitt.

It's fine to have that opinion, but some of us think the talent is much better (especially on defense) than what has been on display the last two seasons would indicate. The defense has been a schematic mess. We also have hopes for less attrition and better health during the season. I definitely don't think it has to take much time to see improvement, if this coaching staff is better than the last - which I think it is.

What has SECking said?

In the thread titled "Why" in post #47 (I think it's on page #2 now of the football forum), secking claimed that Jeremy Pruitt showed up at Mark Richt's house drunk in 2015 and went after Richt physically but then Pruitt "got his tail whipped" by Georgia RB coach Thomas Brown.

At the very least, that sounds like an embellishment meant only to make Pruitt look bad.

Who gives a **** about what happened at Georgia? They were punks and he called them out. He's here now, time for our attitude adjustment. Very soon WGWTFA anyway.

Jones offense did have good success against Pruitt’s defense.

:eek:lol: And nobody around here will touch that subject with a 10' pole. Without the early game screwups at the goal line Butch hangs 50+ on his defense. :eek:lol:

It'll come front and center for everyone if (God forbid) CJP goes .500 after 3 seasons. The pitch forks will be out for him. We'll get completely burnt out on hearing "How could you hire a friggin' Bammer that Butch hung 35 on in about 35 minutes? I knew it all along!"

Thank God were still in the honeymoon phase.

Sane. Very sane. This will not go over well around here.

This article only strengthened my belief that Pruitt is ready to head a program. It also shows that he'll never be satisfied with with 9 or 10 win seasons imo. He wants hardware as much as we do.

I agree.

Will the fan base, administration, and boosters give him the time he needs to do it?
