What GT fans are saying about 2017 game

Looks like the weather was iffy....plus, what does Spring game attendance have to do with success on the field?

He was talking about a post from the GT site. Where they said they (their attendance) would make it a home game for them.

I'm sure Tech fans will show up for a game against UT in ATL.

I'm old enough to remember the annual game vs. Tech. They were always tough....and will be in 2017.

No way we give up 450 yards rushing. Our d line will be straight up loaded by the time we play them.

Were you around when in '97 & '99 vs Nebraska? We had some pretty good D's back then and they tore us up.

GT will be competitive but at this point I think Tennessee will win the game

I agree UT will have all summer to prepare for that triple option attack. It's assignment football, where Tech beats team with more talent is when a team only has a week to prepare. UT will get thier assignments down, and Tech has never proven to have much of a defense. The UT D-Line will be completely loaded with big, fast, and physical players with a lot of experience come 2017.

Seeing Ga Tech on the schedule is much better than Oregon or Oklahoma. Maybe, they should renew the rivalry and play every year in Atlanta.

Yeah exactly...just play assignment football and you can stop Ga Tech's offense.

Too bad I have seen teams have more than a week to prepare and play this "assignment football" and Tech still put up 400+ rushing yards.

Methinks their option attack will want none of our D-line in 2017. We are stacking up to be nasty for the next few years.

The SEC wants that kickoff opening game against the ACC. I hope the players don't put that stupid looking helmet on Butch that they put on Derek Dooley after beating NCSU.

Looked like he was wearing a dang rubber on his head

Be careful of what you wish for....it takes a strong mind and will to deal with cut blocks all game long. losing focus could cost you your career as a lineman.

Oh, will GT's linemen each be pumped full of more juice than 98 Mcgwire/Sosa, and 01 Bonds combined, like Nebraska's were? If not, I doubt it plays out like that.

So that's what you're chalking those losses up to?

Then explain UT's struggles against Air Force a few years back.

Most on this board are not old enough to remember the rivalry between UT and Tech. Bobby Dodd, their equivalent to Robert Neyland, was a Vol and brought Tech to prominence. They were in the SEC or maybe the old Southern Conference before going to the ACC.

UT would run the old single wing against their split T, which was relatively new at the time. One of the classics in college football history was the game that was tied at zero in the fourth quarter when Big Doug Atkins caught a long pass for a TD to win 6-0.

I would love to see the rivalry renewed except for the funky offense you have to defend.

The famous 6-0 game was in 1956 and if Doug Atkins caught that pass, he was ineligible because he signed with the NFL after the 1951 season. Actually, it was a long pass from Johnny Majors to Buddy Cruze that won that game.

Is this the same smack-talkin Ga Tech that MTSU ran all over a couple yrs ago? Yep, I thought so......

Stupid game to schedule, IMO.

No upside to it. We recruit Atlanta VERY well so what's the deal?

Play another West Coast team and get into California again.

A game in the new Falcons stadium to prep us for playing there again 3 months later in the SEC title game...JMO...GO VOLS !!!
