What GT fans are saying about 2017 game

Most on this board are not old enough to remember the rivalry between UT and Tech. Bobby Dodd, their equivalent to Robert Neyland, was a Vol and brought Tech to prominence. They were in the SEC or maybe the old Southern Conference before going to the ACC.

UT would run the old single wing against their split T, which was relatively new at the time. One of the classics in college football history was the game that was tied at zero in the fourth quarter when Big Doug Atkins caught a long pass for a TD to win 6-0.

I would love to see the rivalry renewed except for the funky offense you have to defend.

haha thats awesome! My first game with GT was the 66' slugfest that we dropped 6-3. Charley Fulton
either got hurt in that game or before and we were breaking in a new QB or something. Anyway, most
people dont know that we played Tech practically every year up until the late 80's. Its a great rivalry,
glad to see it back even if its one game.

I like the "Home Game" feel from Georgia Tech, 4000 (announced) for their spring game this year and 115 in 2014.

I must say I'm excited about this game. My sister is actually a GT grad so it'll be a family rivalry game to say the least (even though she could care less about football haha). I'll be in attendance for sure. Without a doubt we will outnumber tech fans... Prob similar to the nc state game..

My wife is a GT grad. I, however, have taught her well. She will be decked out in Orange! Should be a fun game.

Naw Tech will bring plenty of fans if they are hyped preseason.

I honestly don't think so. They had a big year last year, but there's no telling where they will be in 2017. We are poised to be very good for a long time while GT has tended to peak and then fall back into mediocrity under Paul Johnson. I've actually attended a couple GT home games and their fans really seem to sit on their hands compared to SEC games. I'll be surprised if they have more fans in attendance in this game than NC state did.

Good work! Haha. My sister went there simply for the engineering degree. I think in the time she was a student there she might have gone to one game. My folks are all Vol so there's no question what colors they will be wearing.

That was basically the same exact situation for my wife. We will pull for them when they play the Dawgs or Seminoles.

Here is all you need to know about Stingtalk and the nerds. This is when Gurley tore his ACL against Auburn.

Not a fan of scheduling this game. The triple option is a nightmare to defend if you're not used to it. It's a thing of beauty to watch, just not against our defense.

Maybe, but in reality no one knows how good either team will be. And I am pretty sure Georgia Tech brought more fans to the ACC championship game than FSU did this past year. If Tech does well the next 2 seasons they will bring plenty of fans. Trust me. Going to be a great game for sure.

True. I wasn't aware that they had more fans at the ACC champ game this year. I guess we will just have to wait and see how it pans out.
