its not the most interesting to me, but i want to slap USCjr back down to the bottom of the East where they belong. to think they have the nerve to say that they are going to usurp us because of one lousy season. they have talent, but theyve had it for four years and havent figured out how to use it yet. i want to beat them by 2 touchdowns...minimum.

Alabama will not be a bloodbath. The only team that has a chance of beating us by more than 14 points is Florida and if Crompton can manage the game like he did LSU when Ainge went down i think it will be closer than most think. I think we can go 12-0 laugh if you want but i just do. It will take some big plays against florida and ole miss but its very possible. I think at worst we finish 9-3 and we beat UCLA by 17.
Crompton managed that game to all of 19 minutes of total offensive possession. It amazes me that fans use that game as a sign of his potential. I don't see any "potential". He is what you've seen in every game he has played. I admire his persistence. But I don't find him to be very good nor do I expect he will be this season.

I will love a large serving of crow at the end of next year, but I'm really not expecting to have it served.

To the thread topic - I am looking forward to WKU. One game at a time...

I want revenge on UCLA. My dad stayed with me that Labor Day weekend last year. The week before the UCLA game he lost his job and then on top of that we had to watch an embarrassing loss to a team we were supposed to beat. The level of disgust I had after that game was powerful. I hope we crush them beyond recovery.

Amen to that brother. UCLA is my first pick, followed by Auburn. I want to beat the tar out of them for embarrasing us last year. We should have won that game, so I hope the Vols show they are at another level after a down year.

Well it sounds as though all the biscuits have been covered so I'll take the gravy and say the SEC Championship Game as a very close second to the National Championship Game.

GO VOLS.

I don't think the UCLA game was considered an important one at all by UT fans last year and that was understandable. How can you get fired up for a game you think you are going to win by 40 points?

So, is the fact that many UT fans in this thread are really looking forward to the UCLA game due to the revenge factor or to a perception that UCLA will be better or a combination of both?

Isn't the current point spread for the game 3 points?

I am really looking forward to it because I will be in Knoxville wearing the blue and gold.

GO BRUINS!!!

I look forward to the UCLA game - I will be in Chicago on vacation, but hope to find a place to drink a few good beers and watch the game while my wife goes shopping (that's our deal - she gets to go shopping, I get to watch the game). I hope that this will be a game that shows vast improvement over last seasons' effort - this would give hope for the rest of the season and beyond.

What's your point? Auburn was terrible last year and we lost to them on the road. They're going to be terrible again. Losing to them in Knoxville will indicate another disasterous season is on tap.
LOL...Love the optimism...

The Auburn game should be fun...I plan on trying to for sure go.....

Revenge is better served cold. Hope you have a good time in Knoxville and walk back to your room with tears in your eyes.

If I walk back to the hotel with tears in my eyes it will likely be due to the weather. When I was last in Knoxville for a UCLA-UT game (1994) the weather was truly oppressive. I think the Knoxville paper said about 100 people were treated at Neyland due to the heat and humidity. One of the casualties was the UT mascot. That was the hottest, stickiest weather I've EVER experienced.

I won't cry if we lose - life is too short to cry over a football game. (But I will be happy if we win.) Since the current point spread is 3 anything is possible.

I'm looking forward to Ole Miss because I think we can win.

But now that I think about it. I'm looking forward to UCLA the most because I think it will be like the 06 Cal game. Plus I want to get them back on national television.
