Last year we had Berry, Jones, and Rogan who made big splashes as freshman. Its almost inevitable that at least one guy from every signing class makes some kind of impact as a freshman. But looking at the 2008 commitment list I am hard pressed to find anybody I really think could help this year sans Gerald Williams (hopefully). I see a few maybe more likely to help than others but still don't have any picked out. Who do you think? EJ Abrams-Ward, Tauren Poole, Rod Wilks, Austin Johnson??? I'm leaning towards Poole but I don't see much room especially if Hardesty stays healthy.

Lincoln had a huge impact last year as well. I don't see any of the freshmen making impacts like last year's group

Walls because Williams isn't a freshman. Poole is a nice second choice followed by EJAW.

My guess would be that it will be a surprise... someone we didn't really see coming. Its a tough call because we didn't have any 5* can't miss guys in the class like an Eric Berry, and we didn't pick up any guys for the position where we have the biggest depth issue (DT - although FR DTs usually don't contribute anyway...).

I think Aaron Douglas could make immediate impact at TE because of the depth.

he is 6 foot 6 245. he is a perfect TE. I think I heard he may grow into an OL but if brandon warren doesn't make it in then we only have 2TE on scholarship right?

Abrams Ward can have an effect in more than one spot, so he might.

Seriously, it will probably be Austin Johnson or Poole since they had the opportunity to play spring ball. Of those coming in, if Walls qualifies, he will play. I think Bohannen could find his way into the rotation.

As A freshman I would be apt to choose between Ahmad Paige.Tauren Poole,William Brimfield or Austin Johson. My monry is on Paige and Poole. Now a new comer,I would go with either Brandon Warren or Gerald Williams.:hi:

Bohannon, Abrams Ward and Walls are most likely to be the most exciting freshman to play this year. I think Marlon Walls will see a lot of playing time if he qualifies. Johnson and Poole are likely to get playing time in the backfield but I doubt either gets significant action. Prentiss Wagner might surprise as a backup safety and special teamer.

E-JAW is a BEAST! He's the man this year hands down. Poole is good but at the end of the stable; Johnson may not play in Clawson's system- little to no play time; Bo-man is an ok guess; Aaron D is a good one as well bc of our need at TE, but does Clawson play primarily 2 TE's or 1. By the way Rogan was a break out local boy that covered John H's crummy bobbles in PR & KR & actually ran instead of playing it safe & not laying the wood to a tackler...Rogan caught it, laid it on em, & ran like a gazel.
