What exactly is Pruitt's O' Philosophy?

He runs an outdated form of “pro style” that neither the actual pros nor college teams like Alabama run anymore. There is no way we can consistently ever out score a modern offense, even with superior players on our side, which isn’t going to happen because we are also being ourecruitted by our rivals.

CJP seems to want a pro set type offense per all reports, Helton came from that at USC. That's what USC is going to be as long as Lynn Swann is their AD and the 3 ADs before him were former NFL players as well.

I believe that because it was the quickest way to get thru and done with the 2018 season which was more or less a wasted year for Pruitt. There was no reason to think we could do anything this year and for 2 surprise wins vs auburn and UK.

The way the offense played all year with no adjustments makes honestly believe Pruitt just wanted to get thru 12 games as soon as possible. I mean he said on national TV at half that he needs 25 more kids to compete with the opponent. Not necessarily a person who is trying to win more than just getting the season over with.

a starting philosophy is to incorporate an O play that best fits the players you have, at least until you get the players you want...believe he wants an O in the mold of Bama now, but who doesn't want a big line, big runners, and a "healthy" QB with a Pro arm...control the LOS, run at will and throw when necessary...:D

Any coach worth his salt want to "win now". Pruitt made a huge rookie mistake trying to take theze players designed for an up tempo rpo scheme and turn them into a run first power type of offense.

Not sure where usc came from, but they just hired a true air raid guy. Even they are mixing it up and modernizing.

This kind of worries me too. The only good I can see in it, is that defenses seem to be getting smaller, quicker guys. Maybe we can out power them, control clock and play good d. Other than that, I hope he has a better plan and will evolve with the game. I worry he is too stubborn and won't realize it until it's too late. UT may have truly turned into the university where coaches come to cut their teeth

Guys like Sean Payton stay ahead of the curve. Copying this offense or that offense to emulate success is a dangerous pitfall. Be different. Never give the defense a clue as to what's coming. Creating confusion on defense plays with the mind. Don't throw a fastball every time. Go with the change-up, the cutter, the slider. Mix it up!

The philosophy for this past team was to run clock to minimize the fact that almost every team you played has way more talent. Everything will look completely different when they have talent. No coach could have done any better with the mess that had been created. NO COACH! It took time to break and will take longer to fix. But most do not understand that. They think a coach can coach bad players to beat better players. Not happening anywhere.

Thats not true....Pruitt is planning our offense to be exactly like Alabama's or georgia's.......massive offensive line......if you keep with recruiting then you would see the horses we have coming in. Alabama makes minor adjustments to philosophy based on who they have as their QB.... I believe pruitt wants a power system with vertical attacks while adding wrinkles that he finds difficult to defend.

I know I am late to this party, but, his offensive philosophy is really no-ones business but his......I believe he said, that both offense and defense would be designed to attack the other team's weakness.......there is your philosophy.
