another reason not to recruit a 5*????? In this case. His recruitment reminded me a little of Ambles.

It was 2003 in the Swamp. It was Casey Clausen to James Banks right before the half. Last time we beat UF in the swamp.

No EA was not there yet. It was CC I believe. I never thought Banks was that great

You guys remember this kid? He's the tall lanky guy who fell down on his face pre-snap one time.. I think he fell asleep. Did he get kicked off/leave the team? I remember he never came back

I never forgot his catch.

He played QB against UGA that year.

If i remember correctly, Leak started the game. However, Banks came in and gave us the best shot at winning with his performance. Chris Leak gets a little angry over his brother's playing time and decides to attend Florida over UT.

Remember him fainting when he lined up at WR during the Alabama game? Think it was the 6 ot game in Tuscaloosa.

Bumping this because after numerous attempts to scan through the game to find this moment, I finally found it today. It was an awesome moment. One thing I forgot is that he actually made the catch after he fell over like he got taken out by a sniper.

From what I remember, CJ Leak started. I was interested in seeing what he could do. He got like two series. I think he got to throw 1 or 2 passes. The rest were hand offs up the middle. Couldn't tell anything.

Then the coaches pulled him and put in Banks, who just ran around alot. Hardly ever threw it, except on third and long. Never looked like a threat to do anything. Georgia was up by 3 scores before we could muster anything on offense. We got some late scores in the 4th that didn't matter. Georgia won pretty easily.

To this day, I don't know what the coaches were thinking or what their plan could possibly have been. Also can't figure out what Leak did to get pulled and never play again (contrast his first two series to what Peterman was allowed to do in the Swamp last year...my goodness). But overall, it probably also cost us the top QB recruit in the nation, so it was pretty much the most total disaster you can manage in a single football game.

James Banks did seem to have alot of potential in the brief time he played receiver for us. Too bad that didn't work out either.
