Based on what I reading and I hope it's all positive, does the future for the 2010-2012 football season look promising?:eek:k:

waaaaaaaaaay too early to be looking at that right now, but i'll humor you...this season i think we have a shot to be somewhere in the top 25, with that said

2010 hard to tell because we don't have a QB for the "future" yet, but probably around 8-5

2011 top 25 or at least pushing it

2012 easily top 25 probably top 15 or 10

I see a lot of beer being drunk, Rocky Top being screamed at the top of our lungs, hot girls in spaghetti straps, and beating the bulldogs and cocks.

2010 - I think its going to be a tough year. Offensive line...........gutted. QB? Looks like a 8 - 4 year right now. Dont count on a freshman QB to do any great wonders.

2011 - 2012. I think that we are getting into the mode to start winning the east. Way, way, early, but if we can keep this coaching staff together things could get real interesting.

I know that being able to look to the future without wondering if our washed-up head coach will ever be replaced is a welcome change.

Sad...but true.

There's really no way of knowing what the '10 & '11 seasons will look like (especially '11) until a bonified QB is signed...but I'll play along.

'10-'11 season: Not much progression in terms of wins bc of the lack of depth/leadership on the O-line. Whoever starts @ QB next year is really going to have to work hard bc they'll have little time in the pocket, especially if injuries on the OL mount. The running game may struggle for the same reason. I'd say 8 wins is realistic.

'11-'12: I say this is the year where Kiffin hits his stride. He'll have 3/4 or more of HIS players, (hopefully) a solid QB, and (likely) two RB's that any team in the country would LOVE to have. I think the battle b/w CUM & CLK is begining to swing our way in both recruiting & wins. This staff has had three very impressive recruiting classes and its showing on the field. I say a 10 win season is very much in reach and maybe more. We're once again very much in the hunt for the East and even the all-out SEC. N'tl media begins to buy into CLK & we're the sexy pick in annual "which team will rise this year" polls.

Just my 2 cents.

2009 should be OK, maybe even really good.
2010, Kiffin and Co. just need to survive
2011 - this is the big one. 3 years in, make or break year. Because you have to feel that Monte, at 72, will be close to retirement, some of the other coaches like Chaney might take an opportunity as head coach or with the NFL, some of the assistants could get picked up, etc...

2009: We finish 8-4 and a decent bowl bid like the cotton bowl.

2010: We actually drop off a little and go 7-5. O line not as experienced, quarterback questions, etc. Plus no Eric Berry! We still go to a bowl but not as good a one as 09. We end up in the music city bowl or liberty bowl.

2011: We finish 9-3. Still don't quite have the elite talent that Florida and Georgia have. Nor the depth. We either go back to the cotton bowl or chick fil-a bowl.

2012: 11-1. We finally go to the SEC championship and BCS bowl.

The Future holds nothing but comtempt for the Vols especially since he was a bust in the NFL.

He got his. What goes around comes around.

On a side note, wouldn't it be interesting to see how he would fare under this coaching staff and their lack of tolerance for BS? He'd probably have already quit the team - OR - become an all-world type receiver.
