I now live in the North Atlanta community of Woodstock, but have lived in Chicago Il.,Dallas Tx, Los Angles Ca. , Chattanooga Tn. and Knoxville Tn., But my heart has always remained in East Tennessee. My profession took me to different parts of the country, but I've only really felt at home in Georgia and Tennessee.

My older sister also went to UT and my 1st game was in 1964, have been addicted ever since
Go Vols beat the h3ll out of WV!

Family, friends and football.

When life is kicking your butt the Vols are there as a distraction. When things are going well the Vols are icing on the cake.

We all got here different ways that are so similar. It’s been a wild ride over the years, some better than others, but all worth watching.

I’ve been fortunate to be an eye witness to some great wins. The Miracle, 5OT win at gumpville and the win over the gators to break the streak, it’s all about wins. I’ve seen my fair share of losses too.

When it comes to going to the ball games there two key factors. 1) Did we win? 2)Who did you go with?

It’s easy to celebrate a win with strangers. It’s hard to process a loss, even with loved ones.

The best description I’ve heard is, “The most important unimportant thing.”.

Tennessee football to me is that ex girlfriend that you know will ruin your day if you think about her too much. But you know that you'll always love her because you remember the good days, you remember and even if it hurts you can't help but love her

Well you can take the boy out of the country but can't take the country out of the boy. Talking Big Orange Country of course. Growing up in South Knoxville in the 60s I became a big Vols fan, with my first forays into Neyland Stadium as a vendor (Cold DRINKS!), later as a student, and for a few years as a season ticket holder (QQ). When I got my BS in Chemical Engineering in 1976, however, all the good jobs for ChE's were out of state; so I moved to Baton Rouge upon graduation and have not lived in Tennessee since. Later living in Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, again Baton Rouge and 18 years ago full circle back to Texas, still working in industry. A few years after that last move I left the corporate world and now run my own small business in the Houston area which keeps me rooted here with a warehouse and lab. But I never go anywhere without a Tennessee baseball cap and never miss a broadcast of a Vols game.

Born and raised in Franklin Co we had a lot of Bama fans due to the proximity to the AL line. Never understood it then and still don’t today.
Hanging out on the banks of Tims Ford, working the hay-fields and tobacco patches from Broadview to Lynchburg, hauling slop from Jack Daniels to the cattle troughs...the radio always had UT football on.
Living in GA now, after traveling the world while in the military, the best feeling always comes over me when I cross the TN river bridge between Chattanooga and Monteagle.
Dropping off Suwanee mountain into the valley that same feeling hits again...God’s Country. I will always bleed Orange. No win/loss record could ever change that.
GBO!

Born in Kingsport to a family that dates back generations in Tennessee. Dad joined the Navy right out of high school and made it a career. So my brothers and I were raised at duty stations around the world. Christmas and summer vacations back home constitute all of my childhood memories of Tennessee. But we always followed the Vols, no matter where we were. When I graduated high school, there was no place else I wanted to go except Tennessee. My first game at Neyland as a freshman was almost like a religious experience.

Been in Oregon for over 20 years now. I wear my Tennessee hat every day. Whenever I see an old friend who I haven't seen in a while, they always ask me how my Vols are going to do this season. I guess I'm kind of obnoxious about it. All 3 of my kids came home from the hospital wearing orange. My California-born wife doesn't understand, but she humors me. It's probably not an overstatement to say that Tennessee football is one of the great joys of my life.
Great post! I live just north of Portland on the Washington side. Any chance I get I scream, go vols!! In the ear of anybody that will listen.
