What does Butch sell now?

If top recruits don't like Tennessee Orange, our power T and Neyland then they just be dumb and we don't need them.

Throw in peanut butter and crackers or bologna and crackers and it should be a easy sell.

Also Tennessee has lots of HOT chicks just learn to stop when they say no.

Also they need to remember that football will end so learning to be a Champion of Life could just turn out to be important.

Never forget the moonshiners still in the mountains.

See folks, we still have many great things to sell.

VFL...GBO!!!

Something along the lines of.....
We are a place where young men like Peyton Manning, Eric Berry, and Josh Dobbs can come and play in front of 100,000 fans, get a quality education, grow into Champions of Life, and compete for titles.
Even though none of these young men could win them all, we believe they had very positive experiences here at TN. We will always try to win them all, but we know that's not the most important thing in a young man's development.

So what does Butch sell recruits now?

Facilities - yeah, ok.
Fans - yeah, most of us anyway.
TV exposure - perhaps
Tradition - excluding the last 10 years - ok.
SEC - of course.
Bowl games - yes, recently on a bit of a small roll.

Program trending up - ?
Coach up abilities - ?
Championship contender - ?
Strength and conditioning - ?
Depth chart - ?
Game day management - ?
Caliber of recruits in your class (class rank) - ?
Matching player abilities to team needs - ?

Starting to seem to be a tough sell.

That the program is going in the right direction.

I take it you missed the part where Butch hired his sister (who is very capable, btw) for 50k a year.

I know the main thing that determined where I went to college was where my older sister was working. She worked for Pat Summitt before anyone knew who her brother was. So if you think Pat wouldn't surround herself with the best talent then I don't know what to tell you.

Josh Dobbs never competed for titles like Berry and Manning did.

Oh no doubt, she is very capable. Just happens to be quite the coincidence that she's now working for the football program, don't ya think? :)

Josh Dobbs never competed for titles like Berry and Manning did.

In Berry's 3 years they had 6, 4, and 4 loses.

There is more to the TN program than wins and loses; otherwise, we can be Bama, OH State, USC, or any of the other crappy football factories that have nothing to offer over TN other than the possibility of more wins.

We should never define our program primarily with wins and loses, or championships; once we do, we lose our edge - and that edge is what makes TN unique.
