What do you think the coaches are saying right now behind closed doors.

On that last play did you really see a receiver there? Really??? I didn't tell you throw a slider...

CMK to CLK..."yeah, I think we could let Eric take some snaps at QB this week, see how it goes...maybe some at punt and kick return too."

we look like Tennessee of last year, Kiffins mouth has written a check his butt can't cash. 4th and goal why not run a bootleg everybody else was thinking run do something new PHIL.

I would hope that someone had the guts to ask "who called that 4th down goal line play?" and when CLK says he did, then I hope that Ed got in his face with the veins in his neck popped out about 2 inches and said "that's the stupidest play anyone could have ever called". Then, when CLK asked why was it stupid, Ed responds that "we had 2 1/2 to 3 yards to score. The defense was standing on the goal line. The previous 3 times we ran that play, the best we got was 2 yards. So what was different that time that you think we'd get the 3 yards we needed? You just gave the game away - that's why the call was stupid". Then CLK probably responded with "well I'm the head coach and I'll call what plays I want to call, and if you don't like it, you can stuff it". And Monte said "Son - you screwed up big time".

his cash is in the f'ing bank. and that's what their thinking in the back of their heads behind closed doors, because this turn around will be tough until you get a top notch QB, and coach him. That is top notch QB + coach him. We had that for 8 years in the 90's (1990-1998) and lost both the QB + the coach him and haven't been the same since. But you can't do sh%&*$#@*& without a good QB on offense.

stepens is definately the better passer, why would you not start him the second half and win the game, what was the coach trying to prove. that he made the right choice in who to start. dont sacrifice the game just to prove a point.

Don't worry Crompton will get one more chance and when he stinks it up against the Gators, he will go to the bench for good.

In case you havent noticed, they arent exactly deep at the QB position. If CLK pulled Crompton from that game the kid would have been done for the rest of the year. 4 TO's plus an incompetent QB and still were one play away from a win. Take the loss and learn from it.

I just still can't believe so many people are saying Kiffin is a terrible coach after the SECOND DAMN GAME. Sometimes reading these grammatically nightmarish posts make me wonder if I'm living in the twilight zone. What the hell did any of you expect? We knew what we had in Crompton...it's WHY WE HAVE ALL BEEN DYING TO SIGN A QB!

Stop having such unrealistic expectations...find some patience, make sure you are using the terms "your" and "you're" correctly, and just see what happens. We've had one fantastic game (against an obviously lesser team), and one pretty frustrating game (against a fairly even team). Things will pan out. Chill with the faux outrage.

I agree about unrealistic expectations, but the grammar police stuff is just as obnoxious as the "Fire Kiffin" stuff.

It's a message board. Get over it man. Half of those yahoos are probably drunk anyway.

The D has nothing to be ashamed of.\

The offense needs A Playbook with something besides straight up the middle and corner passes.

POOOOR Coaching and No Imagination with the Play Callin.

Kiffin Gets a D- today. A failing Grade.

That's all they could run since Cromptons confidence was shot. But, maybe they should have went down the field a couple more times just to keep the Defense honest.

You guys are incredible thinking Kiffin could come in here and do a 180 with this team in the first year. You must not know much about football. Remember when a guy named Nick Saban lost to ULM in his first year? hes doing ok now i think. You CAN NOT call all types of crazy plays when your QB can hardly run the 3rd grade plays right. Did i think we would lose like that today? No. Should we have maybe called a few plays differently? Sure. Kiffin said so himself. But the offense also should have been able to get 1 yard with the game on the line.

I think the fresh played good...I do think he plays Cromp next week just to keep Stephens healthy. Remember he is playing with Phil's QB

Ok well here are some facts.

Crompton throws 2 interceptions against one of the worst teams in the country.

Crompton throws 4 interceptions (one was taken away from offsides, he still threw it) against a middle of the road Pac-10 team.

How many interceptions will he throw in the UF game against the defending NC's? A better question, is how many interceptions will he throw before Kiffin takes him out of the game.

And to whomever stated that the run it up the middle playcalling is what cost us the game.... you obviously can not read between the lines. The reason we ran the ball up the middle is because he has no faith in his QB. Which is obviously true when he throws 4 interceptions.

Crompton was the death of CPF here, how does CLK not take heed from history.

CLK: Holy SH*T, people take football seriously in these parts. I lose the second game of my stint as HC because of an inept QB and all the mouthbreather Fulmerite's in the state are calling for my head.

Go Vols!
