No, unfortunately he's not better than I think. He's a guy who struggles greatly on a team without a post presence, he gets boosted minutes due to the lack of any suitable players there. He's 7'0 tall and doesn't rank in the top 50 in the SEC in rebounds. He doesn't rank in the top 75 in blocked shots. He doesn't rank in the top 90 in points. He has trouble with quite a few fundamental aspects of basketball in general still and he's been playing and practicing for several years at the college level.
Our post struggles are well noted this season and Uros getting so many minutes is a reflection of that. I wouldn't feel safe betting on a given night that he makes more positive plays than negative plays. Though he will occasionally have a game that is good by his standards, like he did vs LSU, he's as likely as not to go out and screw up so bad Barnes benches him for most of the night like he did against Florida the next game.
