I liked him. A lot. I just hope I like the results on the field as much. He reminds me of Saban....let's hope the results on the Win column do to...

Just watched Fox 43 news in Knoxville and Chris Walker said that the meeting was great and he couldn't wait to get back on the field and play for Dooley. guess all that talk about going to the pros is put on hold!

Count me on the supporter side.

In a lot of ways he is the opposite of the recently gone one, that is good in many ways, and may be bad in others.

We will learn a lot in the coming days.

Step 1 - Who is on the staff?

Step 2 - Who is in the Recruiting Class?

Then we will know more about CDD. Regardless - He's our coach !

Read the bio over at La Tech. looks like half way through the season, right before Utah State game, he lost 6 starting players to season ending injuries. They lost 5 of the last 6 then. Before that he was doing ok and was on pace to finish better than the year before. Kinda hard on a team like that to lose 6 starters. I think the guy is gonna be awesome. Just Dooley IT!

He sounds like a classy guy that respects tradition, and he's been with some impressive programs. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and rally behind a guy who at least has had an ethics class or two!!!!

I like him. I like the passion on the side lines. I hope he takes us to the Mountain Top. I am a VOL fan, He is the Head Coach of the UT Football team.. I support him..

Hamilton looked giddy.. I think he knows something we dont. I trust MH and I think he probably made a good hire.

Has a bit of a Coack K personality about him. Solid, committed no nonsense although he showed some good personality at the press conference.Not going to be as exciting as the Kiffhole but that's fine.

On 1st impression I like Dooley, I like his personality but in the end that doesn't matter, what matters is can he win football games. I hated Kiffin as a person and hate him even more now but I thought the man could coach. I'm glad I like coach Dooley personally but I want to be satisfied with him as a coach also, I want the guy to win, if he can do that and I like him personally to boot then that's all the better.

An attorney, and he was the only HC & AD in D1 ball. He knows his stuff. Being a southern boy/SEC guy doesnt hurt either. He killed the presser, Im impressed.

Excellent hire! The VolNation would be wise to wholeheartedly support and rally behind Dooley and give him enough time to prove what he can do. The wins may only be around six to eight for the first two or three years, but he'll have UT solidly back as one of the SEC power programs by year four at the latest.

I agree...this guy has class...cares about tradition...DD was with Nick Satan at LSU as the Recruiting Coordinator...LSU had the number 1 recruiting class in 2001 and 2003...I hate the way that Benedict Kiffen left us but we need to give our new coach our support...BTW, good first post...welcome to VolNation...Go VOLS!

i liked his press conferece seems commited to our traditions and doesnt take jabs at anyone... personality is great i like the southern accent as it is much like my own and the rest of us... the only ? is can he recruit and coach in sec cant wait to see

I have heard more positive than negative about this guy, and the majority of the negativity has come from this board (just saying)

Don't know what to think of him yet. Just from the presser he seems like a likable guy and you can tell he got some of that fancy book learnin'. I wasn't high on the hire but maybe my expectations were built up too much. Can't blame me, this is UT and imo it deserves the best out there. One thing I am glad about though is that he is a son of the South and grew up with the SEC...he gets it.
