His son, Peyton, already had on a Vols shirt. I like this guy and believe he will do a great job!

He's a lawyer so I believe he will honor and respect the ncaa rules.:dance2: Gonna give'em a chance since he told us all go dust our britches off LOL:hi: GO VOLS!

I really like the guy - seems like a real man. What did he mean about spending a lot of time with Fulmer?

Although I am not excited about the hire I cannot predict how well he will do at being the head coach of the Vols. Time will tell. What I do know is that I was deceived by Lame KiffEn as much as anyone and I am thankful we can begin to move forward from that debacle of a hire.

He seems like a good guy who will be able to represent UT well. If he can put together a good staff and recruit we might be alright.

So far I like him. He said all the right things and I like his attitude. Hopefully he can coach as well. If he can pull in a good class that will definitely help his case.

We have been burned by a class-less, self-centered, egotistical, arrogant, pompous moron so Dooley seems to be a refreshing contrast. From what I have read, he is intelligent and passionate and I believe he will bring energy to our program. I don't think with him we will constantly be hearing of dumb things he has done or said and I don't think we will have to worry about him looking over his shoulder to see when the moment is right to run to another program. It will take time for him to become a VOL but I think he will, unlike Kiffin who NEVER would have so I feel positive. We have given him a great opportunity so I hope he works hard to get our program back on tract. The timing of all this was unfortunate in that Hamilton felt pressured to find SOMEONE immediately but sometimes the most unlikely success stories end up being the greatest. I wish him well and hope that this will be good for him and his family as well as the VOL NATION. We have tremendous tradition here and he will be joining a group of stellar coaches who represent our university well so he will be in great company. From what I see, I believe he has character which was something totally foreign to the previous coach. Let's embrace them and do what we can to support our university!

I think this guy has class and was very impressed with the intensity he showed when he needed. I think he will bring excitement to the team along with something we may have lacked in the last regeim...ethics. I just hope we hang on to some of these recruits and can build a very good staff around him.

Itruly believe Coach Dooley wants to be here and is grateful for this opportunity to be leading the Vols. I liked where he said this is the players team not his and it is up to them how they approach it. The more he talked the more i liked the hire and maybe just maybe we have found a jewel. So with that said lets get behind Coach Dooley and show the ex coaching staff what they are gonna miss about being a part of the Tennessee family.

There wasn't anything in that press conference that I didn't like. Lots of things I did like. And several things I just LOVED!!!!

Will reserve judgement on coaching ability, but gotta say that I love everything he had to say.

Nice work Hammy. I really am excited about CDD. I hope he can have strong finish to the recruiting season and I will see him at the O&W game.

WOW!!! Just watched the presser... this guy is great! I would love to have been in the first team meeting...

Mike Hamilton looked absolutely exhausted. But I believe this is going to end up a good hire. He reached out to both Johnny Majors and Phil Fulmer. Maybe we can even see a truce there... Naw, sorry... maybe.

Seems like his father's son. Vince Dooley is a man of great integrity and character. Derek Dooley seems to understand that he has stepped onto the stage of SEC gold.

I'm stoked now.

Good presser. He struck me as: disciplined, focus, confident and delighted to be here. Nothing arrogant about his demeanor. Far better spokesman than kiffin and comes across far more genuine.

I liked Dave Clawson...and he was a more successful Head coach at the same collegiate level. so, likeablity has little to do with the success of the hire.

Hamilton aimed low and hit low. Our recruiting class will bear that out.
Ki#$in ruined this year's recruiting class. Even with him and his all-stars running the show everyone said next year was a rebuilding season with 6-6 or so being acceptable.

Give this guy a chance and let's see what he does before we run him out of town.

Solid guy, solid hire....much better than the punk that just left. It may take a couple years to get the talent back to where it needs to be, but we're headed in the right direction. He'll make UT proud. And.... I don't see ANY violations in the near future. :clapping::good!::clapping::good!:

The more I hear the more I like. I'm behind him 100% until he gives me reasons to not be behind him. We have to give him 4-5 years to turn us around no matter what. Kiffin and Fulmer left us in a mess.
