What do YOU think about Derek Dooley?

How exciting that he told that guy off. Right!! I am so glad that we have a real gentleman as a coach who wants to take care of business at Knox and not worry about others. Take that Lane- Good riddance!!

Much Smarter than KI**in, O, and Monte put together. Let's hope he can recruit and coach.

This guy is great. His answer about not caring about anything outside of Tennessee where everyone clapped was awesome.

after fulmer and his aw shucks attitude, then Kiffin and his i own the world attitude....this is different.

I did not like the hire

but I liked everything he had to say..of course i said same about kiffin but Dooley seems like southern boy that wants a home like his daddy had.

now just win

I liked Dave Clawson...and he was a more successful Head coach at the same collegiate level. so, likeablity has little to do with the success of the hire.

Hamilton aimed low and hit low. Our recruiting class will bear that out.

Way to back your school!!

I really like that he said he wants the staff to stay...I hope they do...

GO VOLS

This is where we are getting a smart guy with a legal background. A few of these jackazzes are hanging around hoping to get fired so they can collect a buyout on the way out the door, I'm sure (Reaves, etc.).

Obviously, Kippy and perhaps Thompson and a few others are/may be different, but I don't trust the remaining ragtag bunch of mercenaries Kiffin hired.

I'm sure Dooley and Hamilton discussed this on the trip up, and he is smart enough to call their bluff. I just hope that guys like Reaves aren't here to recruit for USC from the inside of UT. Does anybody put that past Kiffin and Co.?

Anyhow, Dooley will be a breath of fresh air over the intellectual lightweight that just left here.

Richmond doesnt play the same level of competition that LA tech does either...try not to ignore the facts.

I love how he said that he would not ask his players to trust him because trust has to be earned.

I really enjoyed this presser...I like this guy, southern boy running UT football, AWESOME!....my only hope is this translates into wins, and I saw a lot of similarities with Nicky boy, I surely hope he's a chip off of Saban's coaching block and not another coddler like Fulmer.....good luck coach Dooley...I'm already impressed with you!

I think he will be good. More substance than Kif and still young and smart. Kif used 100% flash to get people and mediocre coaching. Maybe he knows how to run a 2 minute offense. I really never felt like Kif knew how comeback when we were behind. The offense ran the same as the 1st quarter of the game.

Derek seems like the kind of coach that will immerse himself in his job, program & school (ah la Bruce Pearl) how successful he will be remains to be seen.

That said, I’m behind him 100%.
