What a great guy!! How exciting to have a real man, not hollywood, and a real coach!!! Welcome to UT. Go Vols!!

I like the way he talked about selling the university instead of selling an individual. This is a direct reference to the "look and me" Kiffin style.

I like him, but I am skeptical of everyone after the Lame Kitten debacle. I am behind Coach Dooely 100%. I hope he can prove himself in the first big test of his tenure: recruiting!

He's an attorney? That may be just what the Doctor order (with all the NCAA trouble we've had). Maybe Hamilton knows more than were giving him credit for. Naw, just kidding, I like that he has some brains though.

This guy is a definite character upgrade over peckerhead aka Kiffen. I have reservations just because he hasn't coached in the big time, but Urban went from Bowling Green to Utah to Florida and has had success all along the way. If and when he pulls in bigger recruits(because of the kind of school he is at) I think he'll be just fine. Doin' it Dooley style!!

he's a nice southern boy to me. I like him. His coaching ideas are on the right track it seems, but we gotta wait and see on September again.

But does he have any "street cred?" That seemed pretty important a few months ago... :p

I am not sure why everyone on this board (well about half) is disgusted with this hire. Look no coach from a high level team was going to do what kiffin did. I like Dooley, I watched alot of LaTech's games last year and they were a solid squad. What is so wrong with him that everyone is unwilling to give him a chance? what if he pulls this class back together and finish in the top 5 still? Will all the nay sayers jump on the bandwagon? To rip a guys coaching and recruiting ability without ever watching him coach one game is so crazy that I am starting to think you guys will never be happy. be happy we got someone to come in and be our coach. Shesh.

Who bashed him in this post?

Don't take this as not supporting Dooley, but where has he had the same success as a HC as Meyer had?

Listening to his press conference and I like the guy!
He's a nice southern guy, funny, serious and he shows confidence.
I'm on the bandwagon!
I liked Dave Clawson...and he was a more successful Head coach at the same collegiate level. so, likeablity has little to do with the success of the hire.

Hamilton aimed low and hit low. Our recruiting class will bear that out.

I wasn't thrilled about this hire, but he's hitting a homerun in this press conference. I just really hope that this is good for the program.

He seems alot more sincere than Kiffin, and this is going alot better than Kiffin's at USC (although there isn't any reporters grilling him...)
