I believe it's to show that VN is exactly the same as it was when Dooley was hired. In this PC thread and the JP PC thread you here things like "listen to that southern accent. He knows what we're all about" and "I'm on board, I'm ready to run through a brick wall for this guy."

The moral of the story is, hope springs eternal but sometimes gives out free blinders. You'd think VN would realize by now that getting fired up over an introductory presser is meaningless. We've sure as hell seen plenty of them in football and basketball the past 10 years.

Win games. Nothing else matters.

As Vols fans we want to support any coach that leads our beloved Volunteers, so yes we were excited about even Dools. But the difference I see is that Pruitt has rings, recruited in the SEC at a high level for years, and as of the last hour has assimilated what might be the best defensive staff we've seen in a looong time. He's miles ahead of Dooley already. I'm feeling more confident the wins are coming.

Nope, completely ignorant, after dooley and jones, we are not going to dettle mediocrity again. Weeny do you think we kept two mediocre coaches from being hired.

i like this bump. When the stars are out of everyones eyes, the rubber hits the road in SEC play, and the mob metality dissipates we will all get to find out what kind of coach we've got and be able to speak objectively about our team, maybe.

I knew of his daddy but not Jr. I was at Neyland when we introduced H.Walker to the rest of the nation.
