Assuming everyone misses getting to watch the games, what else do you miss?

I miss Monday mornings when everybody is talking about how their team did Saturday (multiple SEC team fans where I work and everybody gathers at my desk.) First few weeks it's bragging rights. Then further into the season the stakes get higher. Speculation about future losses and wins of various teams.

I cannot wait for the 2009 season to begin!!!

-the build up of game week
-ESPN talking college football
-talking about games that went on the past weekend
-talking about games coming up
-watching football from noon until midnight....sometimes :)
-THE CHILLS I GET WHEN I SEE THE VOLS RUN THROUGH THE T!!!!! (I am 34 and still get chills)
-upsets in the Top 25...unless it is the Vols getting upset :)

Come one football season!

Thanks Volly....you got me fired up! :)

volly please please post more. I cant take much more of ole 38 over in the most viewed list.
that said. Big bone crunching hits played repeatedly all week long. Eric Berry on knowshow moreno is my all time favorite. Also long and heated arguments over officiating (with rival fans).

What do I miss most when it's not football season? What a silly question. Football season, of course. Geez.

-upsets in the Top 25

OMG yes!!! Waiting for the top team to get knocked off.

Lunch or dinner on a Saturday when UT has an away game and we either go somewhere to watch or have friends over.

Seeing my boy's face light up after a Vol win. Seeing his face as they run through the T. Seeing the people in our section. All my UT sisters and brothers.

this is spot on for me...whether I'm in knoxville for a game or up here in Indianapolis doing my own "tailgating" with all my friends over for game days!

That one on one time with my son. The eight hour round trip to Knoxville gives us time just to talk. I learn alot about his life on our Saturdays. No wife, mom or girlfriend to deal with. Just the guys and a Saturday of "Football Time in Tennessee".

Pretty long list of things i miss when it's not college football season. Living in Indianapolis, I miss not driving around with my tennessee flags flying on saturday morning, blaring rocky top, as I run around to get all the food, beer, whisky, etc for the game day festivities that are about to begin!

Make it to one or two games a year in knoxville...(either georgia or auburn this year)..miss everything about those weekends!

What about that point in time when you begin to encounter other Vols on the interstate? We drive up from Chattanooga for every home game, and I-75 is the main route for most of us south of Knoxville. I'm hoping this year there will be more flags and pompoms flying than there were last year.

And talking about the flag just reminded me I need to take the orange flag down at the house and put out the red, white and blue. Totally forgot that this weekend.

I agree with vollygirl, this is awesome. A lot of fond memories for me watching games with my dad, whether it's at Neyland or in front of the TV. He's the one that got me hooked and although we don't live in the same state now, always great when we can watch a game together like the old days. Last game we were able to watch together was the game vs UK in Lexington....something like 5 OT's? Can't remember exactly....just that we won but UK had a ton of chances to win that game. Pretty exciting game, although stressful since we should obviously never be in that position against UK.
