who in the world thinks he's getting us multiple SEC titles?

It is for his entire tenure at TN so a lot of people. Some people do not believe he will be a 3 and out, like me.

Year 1: 5-7 wins
Year 2: 8-9 wins
Year 3: 10+ Probably an SEC East win, and possible NC contention

Year 3: (given everyone is still here)
QB-Bray-Jr
RB- Oku-Sr, Neal-Jr + new guys
OL- JJ-Jr, Stone-Jr, Thomas-Sr, Schofield-Jr + new guys.
WR- Rogers-Jr, Hunter-Jr, Milton-Jr, Meline-Jr.
DE- Smith-Jr, Miller-Jr
DT-Hughes-Sr +whoever
LB-Lathers-Sr, King-Sr, Askew-Jr,
DB- Jackson-Sr, Myles-Sr, (Teague because he will convert) + whoever

 Kinda looks like a NC team to me..(if everyone lives up to potential.)

YR 1. 7-6 - Music City Bowl Victory
YR 2. 8-5 - Cotton Bowl Defeat
YR 3. 10-3 - Capital One Bowl Victory
YR 4 12-2 - SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl Victory
YR 5 13-1 - SEC Championship and National Championship

Quiz'N'Dreamscenario

This isn't as crazy as it seems. If we keep recruiting the way we have we will have a roster of all top 10 recruiting classes from top to bottom. Bray will be a Senior by then and our receiving core will all be seniors. We could be quite scary by that point. I like it.

I'm not sure what to expect yet. I like the guy. He seems very personable. I'm not quite sure about his coaching abilities yet, though. I hope he is a proven winner and stays for a long time though.

I agree, he is starting off in an unenviable position, but seems like a solid guy.

On a side note, I was at the DMV in Clinton today when the Dooley's came in to transfer their licenses to TN. They seemed very nice, although I was next in line and the lady at the DMV cut them ahead which meant I waited another half an hour. But he was on the phone most of his time in the DMV, possibly recruiting, because it was his phone ringing.

EricVol...love your prediction...I mean it could happen.....our talent is there....we just don't have depth or experience....give it 2 years and I think by year three that 10 wins is completely reachable(with a couple more top 10 classes).

I think he is going to be here for a while so I'm just gonna project the first 3 years.

Year 1.) 6-6 I think we will beat Oregon or LSU, but lose to someone we shouldn't like Memphis or Vanderbilt. Top 10 recruiting class.

Year 2.) 7-5 A little better, but still no where near we need to be. I think we'll be competitive with our main competition, maybe steal one from Florida or Bama. Another Top 10 recruiting class.

Year 3.) 10-2 Things will go our way that year, we get Florida and Bama at home, and we don't have to play Oregon. Top 5 recruiting class, with great things to come.

Took the words right out of my mouth.:good!:

I hope he is the second coming of the general. I expect well get three years of music city bowl appearances and some stability before we move on and hire a better coach on the schools own terms.

My expectations for Dooley are no different from my expectations for any UT coach. Win or get out. I expect at least one national title with the resources he has control of. UT might not have a great recruiting base, but there is a massive recruiting budget and the money to do anything. There is no excuse for failure.

Why is that the expectation? Of the coaches who have coached at least 1 game at UT, 1/7 have won a national championship. Where do you come off with that expectation?

Urban Meyer and Nick Saban being in the same conference is a pretty good excuse. IMO, it doesn't matter how much money and resources we have if we don't have a coach that is better than those two. And don't forget, those schools have pretty huge budgets too.

And not competing with those two is a sure ticket out of town for Dooley. We fired Fulmer for being uncompetitive with the better coaches in the league and losing to our rivals. It should be the expectation of this program to compete with those two teams in particular. If that is done, then I'd say Dooley has been successful. If it is not done then I guess we get used to losing to our rivals for the next decade.

As for why we should expect a national title at a school that rarely win them, I'd rather aim high than expect crap and get it. If we are at least in the hunt once every couple of years I'll be happy. My expectations for Dooley's first couple of years aren't nearly so high though.
