Consensus for the previous posts is probably right. Hype and worries about the virus will disappear after the election when it will be too late. Fear of lawsuits will be a factor.

The thing that convinces me that all of this is overblown is several MLB players have had the virus and all of the ones who had it early on are playing with no apparent problems. They are likely immune now and will probably not catch it again. No life threatening sickness in MLB. It is time to bring fans back with temperature checks, 6 foot seating distances and some common sense precautions.

How much more likely is an athlete to die from, be paralyzed by, or suffer permanent mental or physical issues from an injury compared to the potential they will contract and die from covid-19?

If you are under 30 and healthy you have a better chance of dying from the flu. People are stupid and weak minded.

A big concern is the long term effects from getting covid. I don’t know the true number but only 2-5% die from it and that’s mostly old, sickly or fat people and apparently 1 dog. We don’t know what will happen 5-10 years down the road for the rest of us that got it and didn’t know or for those that got it and didn’t die either.

I’m not that old or sickly, but I am fat.

And apparently weak minded for thinking there might be more risks to it than just dying.

Cancelled. It's a matter of when, not if
A while back I thought we could manage this situation and play with fan limitations. Playing college or pro football, given what I see going on in pro baseball, is looking less likely as "a go" this fall...
Today's report of the Power 5 Telcon is not a positive signal.

I agree. I too thought at one point football could be played this fall. It's just a very unfortunate situation.

I still think the NFL will at least give it a shot.

Unfortunately, these things happen. This virus will linger for quite a while. We are very lucky that it is weak in comparison to most of history's past microbes. We are also lucky that it does appear to be weakening a little, and should continue on that path like many viruses do.

The question is, do we just fold up tents and hide and let everything crumble, or do we get on with life?

Away from the subject at hand, school starts back at some point and given the option of opting out of sending the kids to school we’ll probably send them since we aren’t qualified to teach them properly. I pray that they will be safe in the long run.
