:rock:If the 16 class is as good and well put together, we will be back to being one of the teams each week that is discussed for a playoff spot, in 15 we will win at least 9 and have a shot at the East, win a New years Eve or New Year Day Bowl game and win 10 games again with a little luck, we might win 11, some might think asking for to much, but the East will be down again and we will be just as good as anybody in the East, and the Florida streak will finally come to a end, should have this year we Dominated them for 3 quarters and they got lucky, the luck will be with the Vols this time. Great Days and Years are ahead once again for our beloved VOLS go VOLS BUCK bama:dance2:I have noticed a lot of the fans on here don't have the faith in our VOLS like a lot of us, this is my 44th year as fan and I know when I see a well OILED BIG ORANGE MACHINE when I see it and WE TENNESSEE will become a BIG ORANGE MACHINE, WE WONT JUST BEAT THE TEAMS WE PLAY WE WILL DESTROY THEM TAKE THERE WILL FROM THEM, STOMP THEM WHEN THEY ARE DOWN.:clapping:

the talent he's brought in is nothing short of amazing. But what we need to see out of him going forward is the ability to win close games. and I've obviously made my opinions known but you do that by being aggressive. we can't be punting for our opponents 36 on fourth and 2. And we cant take a knee at the ends of halves with good field position.
People on here can flame away but its not a coincidence that the 2 most aggressive coaches in college football played for the championship and it's not a coincidence that the two most aggressive coaches in the nfl will play for the superbowl.
Butch has shown that he can recruit like hell. But now he has to prove that he can win close games.

I totally agree with the article. Better days are coming for volnation!!!! In my opinion 2016 will be our year where we will be singing rocky top till our voices are gone. I believe in this coaching staff, and I believe that there is a big orange monster awaking in Knoxville. GBO!!!!

I think it's a well established fact that you question CBJ's game management and aggressiveness......my Lord, how many posts/threads til we no longer have to read this drivel from you? And it's still January??

Id like to believe that 8-9 wins next season, and im just as excited as most of you are, but I can't help but think about as good as we played against Iowa, the game before that we almost lost to one of the worst Vandy teams in a decade. I know with youth brings inconsistency, but to get 8-9 wins, we gotta be more consistent than we have the past two seasons. I like what I see, and we should see a step forward on the O line next season, and maybe finally have our guy at QB, some added speed and talent upgrades and we should be able to get one or two of those that weve been so close too. I think we get Florida and Mizz and finish 8-4. That's my way too early to be predicting prediction.

Some coaches are gameplan and strategy masters. They blow in to town, flip the program around over night it seems. Often they leave town the same way and the program can suffer. (Yes I'm thinking of Meyer).

Some seem to lay a solid foundation... Improve recruiting, raise expections, improve grades, the will to win etc... *IF Cbj does not turn out to be the best in game decisions, it could be as easy to fix as a coordinator change. At the very worst, he could be a Mark Richt. Before the negative comments start flying- No,I would not be happy having a great team for years and years with no NC.
However, I would love the rise to that level. *IF it came down to that, TN fans would push for a change. That change would come as a minor bump in the road with the program (foundation) being put in place now.

I just think everyone should be feeling pretty good with our direction. A difference in being absolutey great or just really successful seems like a decent problem to have in the future. Beats the hell out of the recent past.

WTS, It's just as possible we get it done as is.

My expectations for the season are this:

8-4 is the minimum given the stacked home schedule.

I also have more specific expectations than just the W-L record...

I think we must:

1. Beat a down Florida team in the middle of a coaching change and rebuild. If we cant beat them now, how can we ever beat them. It should not matter that the game is in Florida this year based on the severe imbalance in the direction of the two programs.

2. Beat UGA. We have nearly beaten them two years in a row and we get them at home this year. Plus they have a new OC/system and new QB. To me, outside of a victory against Oklahoma or Alabama, this is the signature win of the year that says we are "back" in the SEC east.

3. Continue to beat USCe, Vandy and UK. We should win all those games going forward in the years to come.

4. Handle business against the three cupcakes. Dont get embarrassed and just blow them out.

This gets us to 8 wins.....

What I would consider "plus" wins (beat one of these to get to a 9-3 season):
Arkansas and Mizzou

What I would consider game changing wins (if we beat one of these teams then a 10 win season is on the table):
Alabama and Oklahoma

Coach Jones has certainly recruited well, now we need to see him impose his will on the field against the big boys. It was certainly good to see them handle Iowa the way they did and thats a great start to 2015.
