What do we have to be up by to see us some Dormady start 2nd half this week?

I am a Dobbs supporter to the core. I agree on his opportunities that everybody knows he has but I love that kid and believe in his leadership for this entire year.

I really, really wanna see Dormady get to play some real football though. When Guarantano takes over I wanna be able to compare him to Dormady. I wanna see what Dormady truly has under the hood. Besides, I think there's a 75% chance Dobbs has a season ending injury (being realistic) based on his function.

What does the score have to be a half to get 30 min of Dormady?

"I really really wanna..." naga-naga-naganna happen.

If UT's up 5 TDs at the half, Dobbs will still get the first few series. Too much to work on.

And we won't be up 5 TDs at the half, most likely.

If QD does come in he will be told to do the same thing he always is. Hand the ball off. We could be winning by 4 TDs and Butch wont let the guy just get in there and throw.

This is not a knock on Dobbs but why not play QD and Jones against Ohio and let Dobbs get some rest? He has taken some brutal hits the past 2 weeks. The guy is tougher than a coffin nail but he is not invincible. Let him heal and get ready for the gauntlet.

If we did that it would honestly make me feel 100% better about Florida.

We won't do that though.

We shouldnt need the majority of our starters to beat Ohio. Yet for some reason, we probably will.

It would be an idea, scenario though. Just let Dobbs and maybe Hurd get some much needed rest so they will be ready for the 4 game stretch of death.

Yeah. If the OL struggles with freaking Ohio we won't win many more games.

Way to overlook an opponent!

You are all probably the same ones that thought Appy State would be a cakewalk. Careful...

Loser thinking. If Ohio comes within 20 of us then it will be time to officially panic.

App State is a much, much better team than Ohio.

Here's what CBJ had to say about Ohio (pay special attention to the App State reference):
“They’ve built a great football program. They’ve been bowl-eligible in nine out of their last 10 years. Let’s not forget this is a team that lost to App State in their bowl game on a last-second field goal. They were way up at one point in the contest. They come in averaging 45 points per game. The thing that is going to challenge our maturity as a football team is last week they controlled the ball against Kansas, a Big 12 opponent, for 43 minutes of the game. So possessions are going to be at a premium. They also held Kansas to 26 rushing yards. I have a tremendous amount of respect for them."

Talk about pulling a stat out of thin air. :lolabove: There is always a possibility of a QB getting hurt - it's a violent, contact sport - but I'm curious to see the formula you used to arrive at that 75% chance of injury.

No matter when he gets to play, all he's gonna do is handoff every single time so I hope he doesn't get in until the last series or two. Bores the ever living snot out of me.

I suspect QD will get the last couple of series of the game in hand off duty to Kelly and Files-Aime. I don't think the backups will get significant playing time, I could see this being like North Texas last year. The outcome will never be in doubt, but I could see a 27-3 type of score.

The O line starters need to remain in the game, they need all the snaps they can get. Hopefully this game will give us a chance to move some guys around and see what works best for us.

If we are up a ridiculous amount at half I would let Dormady play 3rd and Sherion Jones play the 4th.

Agree. I also think we saw last week what "works best"....Thomas' arse on the bench with Wiesman at center and Jack Jones at right guard as far as our interior.
