What do we expect from Pruit next year?

I expect us to win every game. We are not vandy or mtsu. When I watch each Saturday I expect us to win, if not, I wouldn't even watch. That being said, if we lose several it's not the end of the world, but we can win them as long if we at least show up. I will never concede a victory before kickoff.

Thank you. It’s nice to see people who have a winners mindset.

Ask again after spring practice. Then we know who we have, who transferred and who stepped up. Right now, we know nothing.

3rd in the east? final 4?

The Vols on paper with everybody healthy are the second most talented team in the SEC East. Therefore, with the new coaching staff and the new pro offense and 3-4 defense that will be installed I expect they should finish 9-3. The tough games will be at UGA, at Bama and at Auburn. The game at USCe is a toss-up. All the rest including the Gators and WVA should be wins. Way too many good players in Knoxville to lament about this year's record.

Remember Notre Dame went 4-8 last year and 9-3 this year. We could do the same.

Sorry... We wont be beating Florida anytime soon. We might as well accept that right now.

We will be a much better team on paper than Florida. If any of the three QBs we have can run the pro-style offense with a better coached OL we should be pretty well set with the talent we have at WR and RB. And out defense will be tight and able to stop the run and new corners will be covering the other teams receivers better.

tough question to answer,is the OL just what they are?will they get better ? same thing for the DL,a change of systems may make it worse for awhile ,as we all know it comes down to line of scrimmage play in the SEC

will the JUCOs help out a lot or a little is another big question and to be honest I don't put a lot of faith in Freshmen coming in making a big splash, till CJP can keep most of them as Red Shirts,it is going to be tough for sure

I do think this rebuild is going to take a lot more than a couple of years,as most on here expect it to be,at a guess I'd say around 5 years, give or take a year and we know that CJP probably won't get that long at all

by the middle of next year a lot of fans might be calling for him to be fired and it will get worse the following year, the pressure then will fall on ADFP,if he can survive the storm (both of them) I do think CJP will do good

so my guess is anywhere from a 5 to 7 win season, way to many unknowns to tell right now and I don't expect to get a lot of information out of CJP come the Spring Game or any other time,I think he will keep a tight lid on information coming out,but I may be wrong on that one, time will tell

and a Merry Christmas to all :)

To not be soft, injury prone. I expect better line play coming from coaches that have a clue.

How are we better on paper than Florida? They have dominated us for over a decade and we just went winless in SEC play. They have dominated despite having incompetent coaches like us. Now, they have a great coach who always gets his players to overachieve. Again, we do not have a snowball's chance.

Can you give me any logical reasons to make me believe that?
Great offensive coach who can develop qbs with Florida talent= a loss for us.

I'll take Pruitt and his staff versus Mullen and his staff any day. Our 2018 team will far exceed what Butch Jones was putting on the field. Wait and see.

Why? Mullen was getting good results with Miss State; they are traditionally one of the worst and least talented programs in the sec.
Meanwhile, we have a new head coach who has never been a head coach, a defensive coordinator who was a position coach last year, and an offensive coordinator who has NEVER CALLED PLAYS BEFORE. There is literally no reason to believe we will be better than Florida. Florida has a proven coaching staff now. We can only hope our rookie staff will perform at a high level.

I hope we can win three conference games and go to a Bowl game. We have a lot of talent on the roster should be able to compete with the likes of Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri, and even florida.

Right now we look like we are recruiting to get some wins next fall with all the JUCOs we seem to be after, really disappointed in that because it's an attempt at a quick fix instead of building the program. But even at that we still need a couple of people on other teams to leave early to finish top 3. Missouri seemed to put things together in the last half of the season, if Lock returns I see them giving Georgia a run for the East. if he doesn't they are hoping for 5th. UF has a better incoming class than us, even at home beating them would be an upset. We are 2-3 recruiting classes from competing with Georgia and that's outrecruiting them the next 2-3 years which is a given, their 19 class is currently number 1 on 247.

I think Pruitt is taking some risk with his staff too, Sherrer DC experience is 1 year at South Alabama, he only has 5 years on field coaching experience at the college level, I hope Pruitt is going to be making calls, afraid this is a get my buddy a raise hire. Helton never calling plays is a questionable decision too. If the plan was to follow Kirby he didn't, Kirby hired an older OC who is likely nearing the end of his career and a DC with successful NFL experience, we didn't come close to matching either. But we only play them once a year, should beat Vandy, Missour if Lock leaves, UK, lose to Georgia, UF, Carolina, Bama, AU, WV, so 6-6 providing no upset either way, anything better and we have ourself a coach, anything else and we be looking again in 3-4 years
