What do we expect from Pruit next year?

Better fundamentals and mechanics from Game One, big improvements in football IQ and toughness, no quit ever. Earning bowl eligibility in 2018 and not losing any games in the 4th quarter. Nothing that will impede a great recruiting class for 2019.

See a team thats more physical, see a team with direction, see a team with no quit. If this happens the wins will come!

Winning A SEC game. Beating Vandy to begin with IMO. It's a start and something we are not recently accustomed to do.

6-6 or 7-5 depending on how games go and injuries. I would be ecstatic if we went 8-5 or 9-4. But we won’t know until we see what starters we got for next year. Recruiting is looking somewhat promising as of right now and if we finish with a 20th ranking after NSD I’ll be damn happy!! Let’s get it going already!!!!!

You can tell by the way he looks, body language, and what he says: This guy hates...hates...to lose.

And he came to Tennessee, where he knows he has his work cut out for him, and he knows he has to win over a fan base that will see him as a "Bammer" until he proves he's All Vol.

Balls. Great big brass ones. Nice to finally have a head coach who has them, and knows what they're for.

Sorry, Freak. Got caught up in the moment.

Go Vols.

I guess i don't see what many of you do. I personally see Dormady emerge as the QB in this pro style offense we are going to run. I see our offensive line vastly improving because they are going to finally be coached. I see our running backs thriving. I see our defense vastly improving because we lose two dead weights on the corners in Justin Martin & Moseley only to be replaced with young talent that will be coached along with the rest of the defense. I see Jauan Jennings being reinstated, getting Darrin Kirkland back and filling in some Juco's that can make an immediate impact. I see next year being like every other year....expecting to win the East because we are Tennessee.

I was in Knoxville and East Tennessee all this past week. I know people that are excited about Coach Pruitt and his desire to win. If, we are physical and competitive in all our games good things will happen. Give the man time folks he's a winner!

I actually expect us to be way more competitive next year. May only be 1 or 2 more wins but we won’t be embarrassed like we were 4 times this year.

This with the exception of Kirkland. I'd love to see it but I'm afraid that guy is just snake bit. I really think our OLine could be pretty good with better coaching and without that stupid RPO all the time.

Merry Christmas Volnation
And have A Happy Safe and Big Orange New Year

To begin to build on an awesome team with great size, strength and depth.
Maybe even a bowl his first year.

You can mark this down, UT will not loose all their SEC games!

If he got 6 or more wins next year we'd definitely have a winner. That'd be quite the turnaround.

Beat UF. Don’t lose to Vandy or Kentucky for goodness sake.

I expect Pruitt to follow what Kirby did at Georgia, they did have the same teacher. Richt left Georgia in much better shape than Butch did us, but even at that it was a rough transition and their win total dropped that first year. I don't expect our win total to drop, but the older guys have had it pretty easy thier time here and won't be use to how physical I expect our practices to be. 6-6 is a reasonable expectation, and 8-4 isn't out of the question next year but anything better would be a huge upset.

As for the recruiting, top 5 is a reach, top 10 maybe. The reason for that is one of our main recruiting areas is also a main recruiting area for Clemson, AU, Bama, Michigan, tOSU and in the state of Georgia. Kirby has aleady gotten committments from 2 5* in Georgia for 19, another SEC championship he will pick the players he wants in Georgia, almost did that this year. So there will be tons of competition for the kids who want to leave the state all led by elite recruiters. It will be hard to go in and cherry pick Georgia like we did in the Fulmer days when Donnan and Goff were there. We can doubt Kirby's ability to coach all we want, but he was Saban's top recruiter his entire time with him and may be the best head coach in the country at recruiting, 2 of his assistants were the best 2 in the country this year.

I expect to see a very aggressive defense. I believe Pruitt will be the first true defensive-minded HC UT has hired since Robert Neyland. Think about that.

The General had the philosophy that the defense wins football games by creating breaks for the offense. Saban has been incredibly successful implementing that philosophy at Bama, and Pruitt has been an integral part of making that happen, first as a DB coach, and then as the DC.

I have great hope for this defense. And if Pruitt and Helton can build an offense to compliment the defense, we will be back in the top tier in the SEC. We just have to be a little patient as a fanbase.
But he will not be the D-coordinator. The d coordinator is a guy who was a d coordinator at South Alabama
