What do we expect from Pruit next year?

I can see in the very short term the injury situation actually getting worse because I think Pruitt will practice these players with an intensity to which they are not accustomed. This is a very necessary first step towards making the Vols great again, but it could be tough to watch at first.

I expect...

...an offense that can score an average of 24 points a game.
...to be able to not be concerned when we play teams like Mass
...to be able to steal one game we didn't expect to win
...a bowl game
...an SEC win

my goodness the bar is low

What should we expect?

Depends on whether or not we want to enjoy the season as it plays out.

Low- on no-expectations will insure a happier season for any fan. But to do that would require that we ignore all the preseason anticipation, prognostication, and micro-examination of the team's potential and schedule.

Guess that's the lost art of delaying gratification...

Seeing next year's team not duplicate the pathetic play of this years team. Hope to see fewer key injuries. Get to a bowl game. Want to see CJP recruit a Top 10 or better class for 2019.

I expect to see a very aggressive defense. I believe Pruitt will be the first true defensive-minded HC UT has hired since Robert Neyland. Think about that.

The General had the philosophy that the defense wins football games by creating breaks for the offense. Saban has been incredibly successful implementing that philosophy at Bama, and Pruitt has been an integral part of making that happen, first as a DB coach, and then as the DC.

I have great hope for this defense. And if Pruitt and Helton can build an offense to compliment the defense, we will be back in the top tier in the SEC. We just have to be a little patient as a fanbase.

if anything, win a few, and even in a loss, to be out-played versus out-coached...good start for me...:)

GO VOLS!

Be competitive in every game. Don't give up.

Six wins and a bowl game. Beat Vandy and Kentucky.

Top 5 recruiting class.

I will have expectations after the first full season under Coach Pruitt. As of now, since I have nothing to base expectations on, and being there's too many variables to support an expectation, I'll take a rain check.

I expect a rough year. 6-6 is the hope but 5-7 expected. I'd like to see the roster well along in being turned over. I'd like to see a large influx of youth into the rotation. I'd like to see a change in physicality and a team that's tougher. I'd like to see a team that's together, more aggressive and that fights every play for 4 quarters. I'd like t see a team that, as Pruitt stated, folks just don't want to play.
