What Did You Shell Out for Season Tickets?

I know I’m old but for my first game, we purchased two tickets for the face value of $22 per ticket and, I thought that was sky high! That was when I was in high school. Several years later in grad school, tickets were free but if you purchased an extra ticket, it was only $10.

I think 1990 specifically they were in that low $20s range. I remember getting a single season ticket for like $150/160.

I paid roughly $1,100 for a pair in the lower south end zone - section M. Technically, they go to my uncle in his name - the retired professor. However, he gets another pair of his own in L for the same price.

Season tickets through Tennessee are only $300 plus a $75 donation.That seems very reasonable in 2025.

1990 my friend. Can’t remember when the went up but I do remember the price of those for that game.

I had not experienced anything other than small town things. Therefore, a $22 ticket stood out because movie tickets were $4/$5 and I could take a girl out for a Saturday night for $20.

When I was a Freshman in 1956, I didn’t have to pay to see any home game for any sport. I seldom missed any game regardless of sport.

Some old stubs I have. $17 for 1990 is UTEP but that was a nonconference game and I remember SEC games were a few dollars more. Couldn't find an SEC game stub from 1990 but I'm sure I have one.
