It doesn't have to be. There is lots of sushi on any menu that has no raw fish. The deep fried rolls are a good gateway for those that can't get over the raw fish part.
Next time in Florida, go to a Publix. They have a vendor on site making it fresh. It's good. Watch out for the wasabi. If you've never had it, it will get your attention.
Freak, go to Nama and order a chef-special platter. You can request they use fresh catch (not on the menu) and give ideas of things you do or don't like (I order no salmon, good with spice and not afraid of fruit). You pick the price, appropriate for how ever many people are sharing. Much better bang for the buck and sooooooo good.
