Real sushi does.

The word sushi actually only refers to the rice wine vinegar flavored rice. It can be paired with all kinds of things and still be called sushi. Even smack dab in Japan.

Has anyone ever tried making their own? It's really not as hard to get started as it looks. Definitely hard to master though.

All you need is a rice cooker, and a near by Asian market of some kind.

The rice takes a few trial runs to get right. But that really is the hardest part. And the best thing about it is it's amazingly cheap in comparison to going out. I wouldn't have a problem making sushi for a small group of people but I couldn't pick up the bill at a restaurant.

Give it a try. I will try to remember to come back with pics next time I do it

You don't even need a rice cooker. My mom can't go out for sushi because of chemo and her immune system, but we can make it for her. We've done family parties a couple times and it always turns out great.

I'd love to have some tuna and eel sushi right now. Sea urchin sushi isn't bad either

Almost as beautiful as your pom pom skirt Volly! Well done :)

Never - EVER - get the fried catfish at the Sport Pub at Park and Mendenhall in Memphis. Had it last night and wish I hadn't.

My night to cook. I've got ribs on with diced potatoes drizzled with olive oil and spices. Cornbread going in oven in 1/2 hr so it's all ready at the same time. Mrs Volger likes my cooking.

Date night. No cooking for me! Although I did really love cooking a special dinner on date night last week. Granted, part of that was I just wanted to be in my kitchen with the new island top.

What time should I turn up?

I never cooked at all as my ex was a fantastic cook. I was more of a stirrer. My wife now got me started when I was separated and living on my own. I enjoy it now, and do most of the cooking.

Answer the man's question. And I need directions. :)

Lol. I don't think there will be leftovers. I'll holler when I make my beefburgers. I always make too much of that.
