How much are NY strips going for at the store now? Went to Texas Roadhouse this weekend and they raised the prices again that they raised a couple of months ago. Each steak is anywhere between $2-8 higher.

I bought a NY strip last week at Publix. It was $13.50. It was just over a pound in weight.

Bought it at Costco last week.

I should add on the Costco thing: the meat we buy is really high-quality compared to usual grocery store stuff. Fresh Market is a pretty good equivalent for half again as much. Costco’s chuck roast (for pot roast) is amazing.

The nearest Costco is an hour and a half away, in South Carolina, so we don’t buy produce and stuff. Mainly meat, wine, a little pesto, guac and stuff, just because we’re there, and the liquor store on premises. (NC uses ABC stores only for liquor, meaning not-beer, not- wine, and it’s incredibly expensive.) We come home, break out the meat, vacuum seal it, and load it in the freezer.

We make a Costco run every 8 weeks or so and load up. We make back the membership fee and more every year.
