What did you have for dinner II?

It was a strange day, bereft of normal meals & times. What you could characterize as brunch was white cheddar cheese grits with spicy chicken sausage and avocado. Mid afternoon "snack" was 8 smoked chicken wings and celery sticks with blue cheese dressing. Early evening appetizer was a few bean, onion & cheese nachos. Late dinner was half a turkey sandwich. Dessert was coffee frozen yogurt with dark chocolate shavings.

Some pasta dish from Blue Apron. It was ground beef, diced eggplant (which added bulk but not taste), tomatoes, tomato paste, & mascarpone. Pretty tasty.

The wife and I took the old Power Wagon and made a trip back through Catoosa WMA about 25 miles to get to Fairfield Glades yesterday. About 14 miles of dirt road cutting across Catoosa before hitting any pavement.

We went to a little place called the Catfish Cabin in Fairfield Glades. They bring you a cast iron pot of pinto beans, hushpuppies, cold slaw and chopped onion as soon as you sit down. We ordered the special which was Catfish and shrimp with a side of fried green maters. It was good.

Took the wife on over the to Winery in Crossville and let her pick out a couple of bottles and shop a bit in their store. Yep, old CH_V scored some poon points for sure. :dance2:

Later,

Bangers and hash. A local market's meat department debuted house-made English bangers. I had to try them. However, having left over baked taters, I opted for a hash rather than a mash to accompany my bangers. Hash included sweet onions and homegrown red gypsy peppers and was topped with chopped fresh homegrown maters.

Behr,

Have you had Walker Farms honey from N. Ft. Myers? If you like honey, it's very good.

No, I haven't. I don't really care for honey although I do use it sometimes. I've got "the" connection for honey though.

My best friend is in pest removal and he is a wizard at removing bees. It's absolutely amazing to watch him do it.

Anyway, after removal he takes them to a bee farmer in Naples and the guy offers him fresh honey with the comb everytime. All I have to do is ask.

When Behr was alive, I made him frozen yogurt treats like "Frosty Paws", made with honey and olive oil. Even researched marketing it. Friends and neighbors loved them (obviously because of their dogs).

Sorry for rambling.

No need for a rambling apology. I get it.

When we lived in Boynton Beach this older lady would give the neighborhood dogs "Frosty Paws" which my Bear loved. So your frozen yogurt, honey, olive oil treats sound legit!!!!

Now that he's 10 and getting up there I should make something like that for him. He would love it.

Well, that's how easy the discussion of dogs gets us off-topic. Anyways, glad you have a local source. Last week I saw a truck of honey bees being moved. My wife freaked out! LOL.

The honey and olive oil were good for his coat and helped with shedding. I also made some with fresh Veggies. I was into the holistic diet for him at the time. I used 4 oz. Plastic souffle cups from the restaurant to freeze them in.

You should make them, it's easy and a healthy treat that your dog will go crazy over.

I had ahi tuna, seared for dinner.

The attorney for the company I work for has a bee business on the side. He has hives at a lot of companies and wineries in the Bay Area and we have a hive on the roof of my warehouse. It is cool to go up there and check it out. Though it is not proven, there is a thought that local honey helps with allergies.

Ribeye cooked medium rare.. salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, and corn with peppers.

Pork chop, black eyed peas, cherry almond gorgonzola salad, fresh tomatoes.
