What did you have for dinner II?

Crumbled ground turkey, red green and yellow peppers, navy beans, cabbage, all cooked in a pot with a little chicken stock and spices.

A couple of French "tarts" - thin, crispy things topped with cheeses, veggies and meats. Oh! But don't call it "pizza!" The first was creme fresh, caramelized onions, ham, and Gruyere cheese. The second was emmental cheese and mushrooms. They're sold at Trader Joe's. The wife and I liked the first one best.

Pork shoulder and stuff.

Panna cotta for dessert.

Grilled venison (elk my Uncle killed) steaks and balsamic brussel sprouts.

Elk is unbelievably good.. it's right there with beef.. if not better.

Worked my butt off today so was too tired to cook. Ham sammiches with golden flake dill pickle chips and my mountain dew(redneck fuel).

Y'all were discussing chicken earlier.. my favorite cut of chicken is leg quarters. My favorite way to prepare it is to buy the cheapest, fattiest bacon I can and wrap the leg quarters with the bacon. Grill until chicken is almost done and the bacon is crisp. Finish it off by carmelizing with your favorite BBQ sauce. Best chicken I ever ate. The bacon fat makes the chicken so tender and juicy.. and the bacon seals in the chicken juices as well. Every now and then I wrap in aluminum foil and cook it.. then take it out of the foil pack and finish it lightly on the grill when I don't want it as crisp.

Either way it's delicious.
